Best value for sea food in Newport , RI

We've never dined at Scales and Shells, but each time we visit Newport, we dine at the Mooring. Their seafood is always fresh and well prepared, and the view of the harbor is very nice.
Anthony's Seafood in Middletown is our favorite seafood destination. It's not big on ambience, however it is very clean. Their seafood is fresh, well-cooked, and reasonably priced. It's worth the 15-minute trip over there.

Newport, RI Restaurant Itinerary Recommendations

We visit Newport each year and when we do, we dine at Anthony's in Middletown (seafood),
The Mooring, and Tallulah (expensive, but worth it). Enjoy your trip.

best corned beef to buy?

I agree. I like Hummel's low sodium flat cut.

Looking for breakfast, W. Stockbridge, MA area

The Depot is now closed. The only restaurant in Dalton that currently serves a sit-down breakfast is the Dalton Restaurant on Main St. Ozzie's in nearby Hinsdale also offers a nice breakfast. The drive from West Stockbridge will be around 45 minutes.
If I was going to drive to the central Berkshires area, I would have breakfast at Cafe Reva on Tyler St. In Pittsfield. A bit small and at times extremely busy (weekends and mid-mornings), but the food is very good and worth a trip.

suggestions for fun, off-the-beaten-path Berkshires dinner?

If you're going to Elizabeth's, book your reservations approximately 3-4 weeks ahead. They pack the restaurant pretty quickly.

Looking Ahead - Super Bowl Sunday

Sounds great. The Nick Malgieri brownies are excellent. I'm personally not big on sweets, but I will cheat with these. Thanks.

Looking Ahead - Super Bowl Sunday

Do you cook ithe flank steak in the oven, stir fry it, or grill it? I also live in Massachusetts, so cooking it on a charcoal grill in February could be tough.
Go Patriots!

Looking Ahead - Super Bowl Sunday

My wife and I are hoping for some uniqueness to our food choices on Super Bowl Sunday. We're only planning on 6-8 visitors, but we would like to serve them items that don't fall into the same usual choices of Buffalo wings, chili, etc. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Newport milestone dinner

I totally agree with Tallulah's. We have always loved their service, atmosphere, and care in preparing their dishes.

Weekend in Newport

Thank you for your review. We agree with your three choices and now have a new place to try for lunch, Rosemary & Thyme.

Apple and sausage stuffing

Thank you.

Apple and sausage stuffing

Does anyone use the Jimmy Dean "hot" sausage? For 30+ years, I've always used the regular Jimmy Dean sausage. I am just wondering if it makes a major change in the taste.

Looking for great meals in Newport, RI

We always dine at The Mooring when we visit Newport. Of course, we also dine at Tallulah's. I'm sorry that they're closed while you're there. Maybe next time, you'll have the opportunity.
At The Mooring, we usually order cocktails, appetizers, and seafood from their raw bar. We've never been disappointed.

Rehearsal Dinner Spot in Lenox, Ma?

I'll just add this to the list. A friend of mine and his wife had their son's rehearsal dinner at Jonathan's Bistro in Lenox. The restaurant was closed to the public that evening, so it was a cozy, private party. The food and the attention were excellent.

Berkshire's Best Dinner Spot?

I would like to suggest Brix Wine Bar (Pittsfield). We've never been disappointed with their meals and service. They don't take reservations and the place is small, so please get there early.

Aikilou, I totally agree w/ you. We've always had a good meal and the atmosphere is extremely relaxing. Check the Dreamaway Lodge's website for more information.

Recs for Hancock, MA. area needed, please

I second Brix (Pittsfield). Brix is one of the best restaurants in Berkshire County, but you better get there early. The place is small and they don't take reservations.
If you would like an excellent burger and a Greek salad, try the Lantern (Pittsfield) for lunch. They also have an assortment of great sandwiches.

Sunday lunch in or near Pittsfield?

I have to agree. In April 2011, I thought that it was very good, but the last two times that I ate there, I wasn't pleased with the food quality. I don't know what has changed, but it's definitely not for the good.

About Brix?

IMO, Brix is still the best restaurant in Pittsfield and one of the best in Berkshire County. Seating is always limited, but the duck confit is worth the wait.

Where can we find...

We planned on going to Petey's for seafood. Perhaps we'll make a second trip for the lobster rolls. Thanks.

I would also recommend the Brick Alley Pub or the Red Parrot. Both locations have an extensive menu that should please the children.

I second Brix in Pittsfield, but if you're going, get there early. We also like Rouge in West Stockbridge.

Lenox for Memorial Day Weekend-recs??

Brix Wine Bar (Pittsfield) is still excellent, but get there early or you may not get a table. We also like Rouge (West Stockbridge). I agree that The Lantern's (Pittsfield) burgers are the best.

Tallulah's menu changes quite often and is pricey, but it's worth trying. Wherever you decide to go for dinner, have a wonderful time.

In Newport RI this weekend need restaurant reco

One of the better Italian restaurants is Ristorante Lucia and our favorite "farm to table" restaurant is Tallulah on Thames. Enjoy.

Newport decesion

I totally agree. The Mooring and Tallulah are both very good. Yes, Tallulah is pricey but well worth the visit..

Sunday lunch in or near Pittsfield?

Haven Bakery in Lenox is very good. It can get a bit crowded and parking is lean, but it's worth a visit.

Who has the best pizza in Berkshire County??

My favorite is, and has been for 35+ years, the Tyler St. Pizza House in Pittsfield.
