Brunch Near SOWA Market on Sunday
Bless you, ZucchiniFlower - I just got online to research the very same thing. I LOVE the SoWa market and am planning to meet a friend Sunday for shopping and brunch as well. Gaslight is fabulous and right there (the market is in its parking lot) but we were wanting to branch out. There's Mike's City Diner and Stella too. Several of them have early specials from 10-11am. Maybe I'll see you there! :)
Private dinner in Belmont/WTown/Cambridge
I'd like to do a nice private dinner for about 20 or so adults on Friday, Apr. 3rd in Belmont (1st choice), Cambridge (2nd choice) or Watertown (backup). Would anyone have suggestions for good places?
Blue Room in Kendall Square, Oleana in Inman Sq. and Savino's in Belmont are some thoughts. I would love to hear of others - thank you!!
has anyone done the L'espalier RW lunch yet?
I went for Thursday lunch during last Restaurant Week and it was great. I've done several RW meals in the last few years and L'Espalier is one of the best - treated like a regular diner, not RW riffraff (like others I experienced). Unless something awful has happened since the fall, you will enjoy it. BTW the new space by the Mandarin Hotel is beautiful.
pizzeria oggi returns...
I LOVE Oggi and am glad to see it come to a place that is, T-wise, a little easier to get to than the Broad St. location. The tomato-almond-goat cheese pizza is a fave. I don't recall sesame seeds, but there is a lot of cornmeal on the crust that seems to get everywhere. Small price to pay, though.
Shine, Kendall Sq.
hi - I'm glad you posted about the chef because I was confused - I walked in Thursday evening and to my disappointment, the menu was nothing like www.shinerestaurant.com - more bar-ish.
I came across www.shinecambridge.com - that must be their new site. Definitely focusing on the club scene now. All in all I'm not impressed and agree that it may not last very long.
(this is also my first post on Chowhound - very exciting!)
