1 night dinner help, 1st time in NYC

I have been to perbacco in SF and some comparable places are Osteria morini, scarpetta, l'artusi. L'artusi is probably the cheapest but none $25. If you enough cheap but good go to max, perbacco, supper

special 65th Bday dinner - something different

I have been to every top restaurant in NY and so has my father. We want to do something special for his 65th bday. Aside of Philip Marie does anyone have a suggestion for something a little different (maybe somewhere where we could eat in a kitchen or wine cellar and have a special dinner prepared for us). Cost is unimportant. chowhounds please hellp

Recommendations for our daughters sweet 16 with her six bffs?

ruby foo's on the upper west side would fit in your budget (look on menupages for the menus of both restaurants).

New ChowHound in need of help!

someone did mention Mars 2112 - the food is not very good. Carmines is family style italian and might be fun for your daughter. The food is little italy is ok - taormina is one of the better restaurants. Lombardi's is great but it is not in Little Italy - it is more like Nolita. If you like rice pudding there is rice to riches across from Lombardi's that is like an ice cream store with rice pudding instead (lots of flavors). Enjoy
