Beer Bistro - tips and suggestions please
We tried to get in on a Saturday night in Jan. but they were full. I knew we would be back in TO in Feb. so I made a reservation a month in advance. When we got there our table was at the back right beside the hallway to the washroom. It ruined it for me as people were constantly shuffling by to go to the washroom. We walked past a nicer empty table for 2 to get to the crummy one. I didn't say anything so I guess it's my fault. Waiter was nice, beer was good, food was fine. We sat at the bar after dinner and had a special coffee - it was the best part. Next time I will try somewhere else.
Gourmet Dining in Kingston Ontario
We ate at the Kingston Brewing Company last summer. It is funky but not exactly gourmet dining. Mostly burgers, ribs, wings etc. We enjoyed their beer and our kid liked their house rootbeer. It was very lively and fun.
Backyard Fiddleheads [Moved from Ontario]
We have picked fiddleheads in the woods near Tobermory. They were just like the fancy (expensive) grocery store ones - probably better. They had a lot of sand on them and needed to be washed thoroughly. We all lived through it and never even considered they could be harmful. Morels, on the other hand, are also something we picked and had an identification book so we didn't eat a poisonous "false" morel. This is an annual trek with a few brews later to reward us for the woods thing.
Cleveland recommendations near the Q
We went to the Corner Alley and it was a hit! Thanks to all. We also enjoyed Harry Buffalo. Didn't have time to get to Great Lakes Brewing. I might add that I have never been treated as well anywhere on vacation as I was in Cleveland. Cleveland was awesome and we'll be back
Dinner Near the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland?
Just got back from Cleveland with kids. Both restaurants I will tell you about are close to your hotel. Went to a Cavs game and ate before at Harry Buffalo. Kind of a road house with good wings and local beer. Very lively and the kids enjoyed it. Interesting wing sauces like mango barbeque and tangy orange. The next night we ate at The Corner Alley. It is billed as a restauant/martini bar attached to a bowling alley. It was recommended to me on this board. We tried to get in after the Cavs game but kids aren't allowed in after 9 pm. Went back earlier the next night and had a great time. They have a pizza oven and the pizza was good. Hubby had a steak, I had pasta - both okay. One kid had fish and chips in Guiness batter - very good. The bowling part is quite separate in case you don't want a noisy dining experience. I ordered a martini called "blue balls" and it was gigantic. It was served in a draft glass! The Rock Hall was awesome and the kids loved it.
Cleveland recommendations near the Q
Will be going to visit Cleveland in 2 weeks. 4 adults and 3 teenagers going to Cavaliers game at the Q. Looking for somewhere to eat dinner that is fun, reasonably priced, can be loud but not snobby, must serve beer, near the arena where the Cavaliers play.
