Please share recommendations for a culinary vacation

pick a B&B (check out Candlelight Inn) in Napa Valley- the innkeepers will hook you up with an itinerary that meets your specific wishess. Napa has some of the best restaurants and culinary experiences in the country- not to mention wine!

Looking for Rugelach

hymie's in bala cynwyd has great rugelach (and chocolate babka,,,and be sure to grab a corned beef sandwich while you're there too!)

Brunch in Media (finally!)

We had dinner a few weeks ago at "Generations" (replacement of Little Inn)- it was AWFUL! Food was bland and service was not much better.

Brunch in Media (finally!)

With Belle Epoque under renovation and Iron Hill no longer offering a brunch menu- Media was seriously lacking in good options for brunch. Recently, Azie started offering a sunday brunch buffet and I've been a couple times already- so far so good! It is not your standard offering of boring bagels and eggs. In addition to traditional breakfast options (which are all excellent, not soggy and HOT!) they also offer sushi rolls, teriyaki salmon/ chicken, gourmet desserts, salads, soups etc. At $16/person- very reasonable for the quality and variety of food available.

Help! Rehearsal Dinner - 100+, Montgomery Co.

You might want to consider Maggiano's in King of Prussia. They definitely have the big private room you would need and reasonable prices.

Pittsburgh Wedding Rehearsal Dinner

I got married at the William Penn a few years ago and we rented out the italian restaurant Asiago for our rehearsal dinner. It was very nice and reasonably priced. We were able to walk there from the WP but it might be a stretch from the marriott.

New to Media- Global Azie

Media seems to be bursting at the seams with restaurants (and banks...) these days. This week the long anticipated Global Azie is opening. I am personally excited to see something take over the empty west end saloon site AND give M. Kuo a run for her money in the upscale pan-asian food arena. Global Azie comes from the same folks that own Teikoku in Newtown Square and Thai Pepper so I have high hopes for the menu/food quality.
Will update with a review once I try it out! If others beat me to it- please share your opinions.

Pei Wei in springfield??? Any other good Chinese in Delco.

We tried Pei Wei- it was truly awful. Very very bland food.

The Little Inn in Media

Very interesting. I have lived in Media for several years and never heard of The Little Inn. Now in the past week I have noticed that it takes reservations via opentable.com, has a website and now here it is mentioned on Chowhound.
For those who have been, are there any specific dishes you recommend? And is the brunch a buffet or a la carte?

Yummy takeout quiche in center city or Delco?

A new cafe just opened in downtown Media. They have both cheese and quiche (and sandwiches/salads etc. too). I have not yet tried the quiche but the sandwich I had was quite excellent.

saturday lunch in media

If you are up for indian, Sheree E Punjab has a great buffet at lunch (even on weekends) for like $10/person.
Another nice option is La Belle Epoque for brunch. I recommend the omelets and the salads.

Downtown Media- New Restaurants Coming

I was at Fellini's in Media last night and they had a sign announcing a new "sister" restaurant they are opening at Olive & Baker St. in Media. It said that the new place will primarily focus on gourmet wood-fired pizzas and gelati- sounds good to me!
Also- I still haven't seen much progress on the Teikoku-owned restaurant that is supposedly replacing the West End Saloon. Does anyone know what the delay is or any further info?

Great dinner in Media?

My favorite Media restaurants include Nadia Thai Cuisine, Sheree E Punjab (great new indian restaurant), as well as Sligo (Irish Pub). Those being the best, I would probably rate Brodeurs as the worst for service and food and the others restaurants (fellinis, quotations, iron hill, stephen's, etc) somewhere in between.
The owners of Teikoku are opening a restaurant at Orange and State and I am looking forward to that. Has anyone heard any details of when?

Easter Brunch- HEEELP!!

Meredith's in Berwyn is offering what appears to be a lovely Easter Brunch Buffet and sounds as if it might be in a decent location for you as well.

Any remaining dim sum in Pittsburgh?

It has been a while since I've lived in pittsburgh but you may want to check out the Dumpling House on Murray Ave in Squirrel Hill. I believe they offer dim sum- although it is off a menu and not in carts unfortunately.

Heng's Sushi and Thai

I also visited the Newtown Square location and had a very poor experience. They completely forgot about my soup and the pad thai was awful tasting. The service was terrible and I was pretty shocked when I sent back the pad thai and the waiter brought it back to the table and told me that the chef had TASTED IT and said it was just fine.

From the Boot?

We really enjoy From the Boot. I recommend the chicken marsala-excellent! I also enjoy the hot garlicky rolls served before the meal- yum :)

Breakfast or Lunch near Andy Warhol Museum

Please keep an open mind as Pittsburgh is very different from SF. Not to say that Pittsburgh doesn't have wonderful vegetarian selections and healthy options BUT...If you are interested in trying food that Pittsburgh is well known for- then be prepared for grease! There are fries on everything- from sandwiches to salads and yes- even the pancakes are doused with some extra grease (btw- I am a HUGE fan of Pamela's pancakes).
I am unaware of anything decent near the warhol museum and I would agree that it is worthwhile to drive back over to downtown and check out the Strip District area. If you aren't into Pamela's- you might want to check out Benkovitz seafood to try their famous fish sandwich (oh yes- it is fried!) but they also offer grilled fish, sushi etc. :)

New Indian Restaurant in Media

A small, informal sign was just recently posted on the former subway location downtown Media indicating that an Indian Restaurant will be opening soon. Does anyone know which one it will be or have any more info? I hope it is good!

Italian In Pittsburgh

You might try the Common Plea downtown- very classy. I haven't been there for quite a while but they used to have an antipasto bar I believe...

Pancakes The Size Of Your Head? Where Around Philly?

Correct- the Boxcar does in fact have the "as big as your head" pancakes but they are nothing great (other than the size of course).

Private Cooking Classes in Philly?

Viking HomeChef in Bryn Mawr offers cooking classes and demonstrations and would make a perfect gift for a couple. However, I don't think that they do private/in-home...
