Restaurants near Philly Marriott Downtown

Hello.

I am attending a conference in a few weeks that will be held at the Marriott in downtown Philly.

Any great places to eat lunch and dinner?

Thanks so much.

lamb for two?

Hi, I just made a boneless leg of lamb last night.

It was 2lbs. I rubbed olive oil on it and then covered it with some rosemary, parsley, salt, pepper and some garlic. I roasted it at 350 for about an hour or so (my husband likes it medium) I served it with mint jelly, mashed potatoes and cream corn (husband's request lol) He loved it, I don't like lamb.

Any good bow tie pasta recipes?

Hello everyone.

I have some bow tie pasta here and I don't know what to do with it. I usually make it with broccoli, garlic and olive oil but I'm looking for something different.

Does anyone have a good recipe to share? Thanks.

J.

chicken breasts on the bone...help/ideas?

I put a bit of butter under the skin, sprinkle with salt and pepper. I add cut up onion and some garlic cloves to the pan and bake at 350 for an hour or so. I place the breasts skin side down for a while, then turn them right side up.

Delicious, moist chicken! yummmm............................

Looking for meatloaf recipe

I find that the simpler you make meatloaf, the better it tastes. :)

No self-respecting hound would go out to dinner tonight - what's on your home-cooked menu?

I made homemade sauce with sausage and a baked ziti.

Looking for an old man bar with good (even okay) food in Bklyn

The Log Cabin has a lot of characters in there lol. I was there once, with my DH and Brotherinlaw. It was fun, but unless you go in there with a "regular" it might be uncomfortable.

I used to love Wheelers. My friends and I were regulars there all through nursing school.

Rainy Weekend-what are you cooking?

My husband is making lobster tails, shrimp cocktail and some other goodies. We will also have rum and cokes with lime for cocktail hour. lol Makes us think of the summer.

Tomorrow I will slow roast a delicious chicken, with baked potatoes, maybe stuffing, creamed onions(I love them) lol, vegetables, salad and something great for dessert.

What's a typical week-long menu for you at home?

Making dinners and freezing them also come in handy on work or lazy days. When I get ambitious I freeze stews, soups, chilis, meatloaf etc.

What's a typical week-long menu for you at home?

I work 12 1/2 hour shifts three days a week. I only cook on my days off, usually going to the supermarket once or twice a week to get foodstuff. Sometimes on a day off my husband and I will go out to eat or get takeout.

This is my weekend off so this week looks like this:

Saturday: Husband cooking lobster tails.

Sunday: Some sort of "Sunday dinner" Probably roast chicken, baked potatoes, vegetables and salad.

Monday: Leftovers. (I'm working)

Tuesday: London Broil, mashed potatoes, vegetables. (day off)

Wednesday: Leftovers (work)

Thursday: I will make a homemade sauce with meatballs and sausage, ravioli and salad. (off)

Friday: Maybe go out for a quick bite at our favorite pub.

Saturday/Sunday: Working. Husband will cook, or we'll have meatball sandwiches, salads, grilled cheese, or order a pizza.

I make homey food. Any kind of Italian food, roasts, stews, rice and beans, meatloaf, steaks, seafood, chicken, pork chops. I like to try a new recipe a few times a month to add to the rotation too. :)

What is mac and cheese to you?

I know homemade is probably better, but I usually have Kraft mac and cheese.

I like it with green beans on the side. My husband thinks I'm nuts, but I really like it. Sometimes I'll have that with fish cakes too.

I also like sloppy joes with mac and cheese.

That's about it.
