Where in New York City can one satisfy a craving for hot, grilled Asian sweet potato?

Anyone know where to find Japanese sweet potatoes in the New York area? Also any suggestions on how to prepare it as well as tips on how to select the best ones to purchase? I am a freelance writer who craves this warming food of winter.

We're looking for a nice, homey spot to fete my father-in-law who is turning 75 this November. I believe he grew up in Flatbush near Kings Highway -- it would be great if the site could sort of evoke "The Old Neighborhood." Nothing too pricey though.
Any suggestions?

I'm always disappointed by traditional honey cake for the Jewish New Year. Can anyone can recommend a good place to buy honey cake that isn't made in the traditional manner or that is -- but adds an extra kick (cranberries, orange zest, candied ginger or some other alternative)?

A question for DeisCane: If it's not the cheese, what are some of the reasons why kosher pizza isn't as good?

Is there any kosher pizza in New York that matches the quality of the great non-kosher pizza, on par with Patsy's, Pintailes and Lombardis? (I guess this is a question for those who have the non-kosher pizza as well.)
