Hardart's Profile
restaurant for son's 21st birthday
Amada, Osteria, Morimoto, or, hell, Buddakan.

Cherry Hill Mall area diners?
Thirding Ponzio's -- it's better than the Silver Diner -- but also urging you to consider the Bistro inside the Mall itself, which has a diner menu's diversity and informality but much better quality.

Need Some Dinner Recs for One Night in the Penn's Landing Area
Basically, look for discussions here regarding Olde City/Society Hill, because that's all nearby for you. I'd recommend (depending on mood) Amada, Han Dynasty or Zahav.
Where are you getting your turkey?
We've done Griggstown for years (well, ever since the Head House Market opened), and have always been pleased. They'll brine and truss if you like as well.
Craig LaBan's Seraphina review
His review of the Ivy Grille back in the day was something to behold. So was this takedown of Bookbinders: http://articles.philly.com/1999-09-05/restaurants/25486733_1_dining-restaurant-renaissance-bookbinder
More recently: Del Frisco's.
Sesame PLace - Anything close to get food with kids?
There's a Red Robin within the mallplex that's kid-friendly. Also an Uno. You're basically in chain-land.

Your Go-To Pancake Spot
I really like the Silk City Cakes -- a little thin and crispy on the end, with lardons in the batter and maple butter on top.
Looking for a critique of my Philly food itinerary
Especially post-Lakeside. We don't have a palace anywhere near Yank Sing in SF.
Twisted Tail - a review
If they're going to charge money for the food, it ought to be good. It may be too soon for a formal review, of course.
Where to take my girlfriend's dad to ask for her hand in Philadelphia
I'll second the vote for Lacroix. This isn't just "I want the fish to be good," but "I want to impress upon him that I'm serious about this and will take care of his daughter."
Real Cantonese Chinese in Philadelphia ?
Second the SLK recommendation. Truly top notch.
Barclay Prime: Apps and Sides?
Get the sliders to share as a pre-app teaser course, and I've certainly enjoyed the tuna tartare as a seafood appetizer. Really, it's all good there.
Lunch & Dinner near the Convetion Center in Philly
Agreed on all counts. Brave the crowds at RTM, because it's worth it, and consider Chinatown for dinner -- Vietnam, Shiao Lan Kung, etc.
Brunch in Old City/Queen Village?
Reading Terminal Market. Not far from Old City at all.
Upscale Philly Restaurant with TV in bar?
Go really upscale -- Lacroix at the Rittenhouse. Let him discretely sneak out between courses to the Boathouse Row bar for game updates.
Or buy TiVo already.
In Philly for 1/2 marathon this Saturday - Italian for 6?
Close-and-acceptable is Maggiano's, a Chicago-based chain, and with huge portions. For better quality food, I'd go with Pietro's for Center City and moderate.
PHL - Dinner tonight, any good new places near 5th and South?
Two thoughts not on that list: Snockey's and New Wave Cafe, the latter of which isn't what it was when McNamara was there, but ain't bad. (Also, obvs, Dmitri's.)
Entertaining LA fashionistas in Philly..
Any of the Garces or Starr restauarants should suffice.
Astor Place - Now the Clubhouse Diner
If it's at all related to Bensalem's Clubhouse Diner, you're in for a treat.
Dinner in South Philly before the Phillies Game
Villa di Roma, on 9th below Christian. Fast, cheap, and very much in control.
Ansill: As Good As Chowhound Said It Would Be
yep. It wasn't crowded, I'm guessing, because it just reopened from a 10 day vacation.
Quick Eats Near Convention Center?
Phila-area hound, and I'll be down there for a few days next week. What are some solid options in the blocks around the Hilton and Convention Center for each meal?
Should we go to Rae?
That's a shame if it's true. The food has been exceptional whenever I've been there -- the "American sushi sampler" especially.
Parc: Latest Steven Starr Opening?
July 14, says an email today. Let this be his atonement for closing down the blessed, and dearly missed Blue Angel.
Buddakan - what not to miss?
The lobster fried rice is exceptional, as is the duck breast and ponzu chicken.
Basically, it's a museum of early-90s Asian fusion cooking, but a heck of a good museum.
Philadelphia Dinner for 25/Walk to Ritz Carlton
Indeed, that's the easiest option. Also McSchmick, I assume, has this capacity.
