Best Foodie, Non-Steakhouse Restaurant for Lunch Downtown
Taking out some clients in the financial district on Water Street for lunch. I don't want to do a steakhouse and would prefer a noteworthy foodie experience. Does this exist? All recommendations are greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Need Recs for 2 Dinners and Lunches in St. Helena
We are staying at the Harvest Inn in February and are seeking recommendations for two fine dining dinners and two interesting lunches for our trip in or near the St. Helena area. We have never stayed in St. Helena before, but to give you an idea of what we like, the last time we stayed in Yountville we dined at Ad Hoc, Bistro Jeanty, Bottega, and Brix.
The restaurants are currently consider are Tra Vigne, Terra, Farmestead, Cook (lunch), and Taylor's Refresher (lunch). We would love to be close to our hotel for dinner. Would also like a gourmet sandwich shop for one of our lunches. Thank you!
Best Sandwich in Pasadena?
I am picking up Christmas lights at STATS today on South Raymond Avenue in Pasadena. Would like to sit down and have a nice sandwich before then -- all types/ethnicities are in the mix. All recommendations are greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Fine Dining on the Upper East Side
I'm coming out next week from California. Besides Daniel (which would be my top choice but is booked), what are the 2011 options for the top fine dining restaurants on the UES? I want to stay away from Italian and any steakhouses. Thank you.
Business Lunch in Sherman Oaks or Encino
Looking for a high end (non-steakhouse) recommendation for a business lunch in either Sherman Oaks or Encino. Thank you.
Best Business Lunch in Tribeca?
I'm taking about 8 clients out to lunch near their office in Tribeca on Greenwich Street. I possibly might want a private room. Any thoughts? Thank you.
Where to buy bagels and lox for a large party?
Thanks everyone for the responses. I ended up purchasing a lox platter from Bagel Broker on Beverly and Fairfax. Amazing quality lox and all the fixin's for $11 per person. It was a hit.

Where to buy bagels and lox for a large party?
I need to buy a set of bagels, lox, capers, onions, cream cheese, etc. to bring to a tailgating party on Saturday morning. It would also be nice if I could also buy some Jewish pastries.
I live in Larchmont Village, but my normal standby, Sam's Bagels, doesn't do a good job on anything but bagels and I need to slightly class it up for this crowd.
Any recommendations in the mid-city area?
Thank you.
Best Bagels in SoHo?
I am staying at the Mercer Hotel and wanted to know what is the best bagel shop in walking distance? Thanks!

Thank you everyone. I needed that geography lesson.
Ma Peche or Marseille for Dinner Before Seeing War Horse?
Trying to decide between the two restaurants for a pre-theater dinner for two. I have 6pm reservations booked for both. Earlier in the week we are also going to EMP, Gotham, and DB Bistro Moderne. Thanks for the recommendations!

Seeking Recs for NYCesque SoHo or East/West Village Restaurant for Reunion Dinner for 8
Coming into NYC from LA in July. Having a dinner with old classmates and significant others. Staying in SoHo and most of the group lives downtown. Looking for a 4+ star restaurant which has an ambience conducive to conversation and is apporpriate for the celebration. Most of us are foodies and I am looking for a restaurant for which a carbon copy does not exist in LA.
Thank you in advance!
Four Nights in NYC: Looking for 2 Celebrated Lower Manhattan and 2 Top Theater District Restaurants
Thank you everyone for the very informative, dare I say analytical, responses. I appreciate it.
Four Nights in NYC: Looking for 2 Celebrated Lower Manhattan and 2 Top Theater District Restaurants
Staying in SoHo for four nights. Coming from LA. I am seeking recommendations on two top -- celebrated -- restaurants in Lower Manhattan, be it SoHo, Tribeca, Greenwich Village, or the West Village. Considering Blue Hill, Balthazar, Gotham Bar & Grill, Il Mulino, Babbo, Perilla, and still searching for recommendations.
No idea where to even begin with the Theater District but am desparately avoiding a tourist trap.
Thank you foodies!

3 Nights in Goleta -- Searching for Santa Babara's Three Best Restaurants
Thank you!
3 Nights in Goleta -- Searching for Santa Babara's Three Best Restaurants
Staying at Tthe Bacara resort at the end of the month. We will mainly hang out at the resort (besides one day of wine tasting) and looking for three top notch dining experiences for dinner. About four years ago we had dinner at Bouchon, Olio E Limone, and the Wine Cask. We had a terrible experience at the Wine Cask and will never go back.
Our finalists for this trip are the following, and we would appreciate guidance on narrowing down the selection: Bouchon, Olio E Limone, Miro (at the resort), Julienne, and Ca' Dario.
All comments are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Best BBQ from Hancock Park Due West to La Cieniga?
Now that The Pig is closed, where is the best place to go for BBQ in the Hancock Park, down West to La Cieniga area, keeping North-South borders between Melrose and Wilshire? Thanks.
Russian River Valley Wineries
What is the best vineyard in the Russian River Valley for a 60-90 minute tour and tasting and overall what 3-4 wineries would you suggest visiting? We love Pinor Noirs, Chardonnays, and Cabernets, although we recognize this area is best known for its Pinots. Thanks!
Need Recommendations Dinner and Wineries for Two Days and Nights in Sonoma
My wife and I are staying at the Lodge at Sonoma around the holidays. We are foodies and like great wine and are really excited about this trip. Unfortunately I do not know the geographic area well and am having trouble picking my restaurants and the vineyards.
In a perfect world, we would like to have a lunch and dinner planned for both days. Cost is generally not an issue. We would also like to visit about 4 vineyards a day -- with tastings at three and a more involved tour or library tasting at one vineyard each day.
Since I know I have a very educated group reading this post, to give you a flavor of what we like, when we spent three nights in Napa earlier this summer, we hit the following: Bistro Jeanty, Ad Hoc, Brixx, and Bottega. We also did a tour at Cakebread Cellars, and visited for tastings Frog's Leap, and Honig. We also did a trip up to the Alexander Valley and hit Hanna, Stryker, and Alexander Valley Vineyards.
We like bold Cabernets, complex Pinots, and Chardonnay. When we go to the vineyards, we would like to stay in the same general vinciity per day and generally like to stay within 20 minutes of the hotel for dinner at night.
I had originally wanted to visit Jordan -- but read that it is closed during the week we will be visiting. I'm also intrigued by the Dry Creek Valley and the Russian River Valley.
All recommendations regarding a gamenplan would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!

Best Pizza Near SF Giants Ballpark
We are looking for a recommendation for the best pizza in walking distance (and close by) the ballpark where we can order a pie or a few slices before a night game. Thanks.
3 Nights in Yountville
My wife and I are staying in Yountville for 3 nights in late July. While we will explore all of Napa during the day, I want to stay in Yountville for dinner. These are the three most important restaurant reservation decisions I have for the entire year. I've already secured a reservation for Ad Hoc's Fried Chicken night. Now I need two more recommendations. We love Italian so we are considering Bottega. We are also considering Bistro Jeanty but have heard rumors that it is sliding downhill and the menu did not seem very inspiring to me.
All recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Best 2010 Dine LA Menu / Experience?
In reviewing most of the menus posted for the Dine LA weeks, I find most of them to be too limiting and under whelming. My wife and I went to Grace this past Friday, and both the diversity of the menu and the food was excellent.
I am looking for other recommendations of restaurants to pursue during the expanded Dine LA week. I prefer to stay in LA, south of Melrose, north of Wilshire, and between Highland and Fairfax.
Thanks!
