Gluten free beer - Daura at Whole Foods - excellent beer
That's what I though also re the barley malt, but it has a special process. Daura contains less than 6 PPM gluten per its packaging. My wife is celiac and did not have any issues.
Gluten free beer - Daura at Whole Foods - excellent beer
Just happened to see "Estrella Damm Daura" at the WFs in Dedham. Lager style beer made from barley malt in Spain. My wife and I thought it was tastier than RedBridge and Bard's Tale and didn't have an after taste. On the expensive side, however. $8.49 for a 4 pack. I haven't seen it elsewhere.
NEED RECS :) Chatham Bars Inn stay this Presidents Day weekend in Chatham, MA Cape Cod!!!
I would highly recommend the Wicked Oyster in Wellfleet for dinner. I would make a reservation. It also serves breakfast.
I would also highly recommend PB Boulangerie and Bistro in Wellfleet. Well worth the drive. Open Wed to Sunday. Check website. During this past summer, the line for its bread, pastries, and coffee were very, very long, but worth it. Also, serves dinner now. Haven't tried it for dinner.

Wicked Oyster
50 Main St, Wellfleet, MA 02667
looking for the best fresh pork sausage sold retail
I would also recommend Tony's in Roslindale Square. He's located on Washington St. He makes hot and sweet sausages, which are extremely tasty.
The Cape with a Kid
Hi,
You may want to checkout Wicked Oyster in Wellfleet. Very good the times we have gone there in the past. We haven't dined there yet this season. I believe it serves breakfast, too. Enjoy.
Spotted: Diet Ginger Beer
I have only seen and tasted the Goslings Ginger Beer, which is very good in a Dark and Stormy. I wasn't aware that it was made in a diet version. I buy it at the Stop and Shop in Hingham. Polar makes the Goslings Ginger Beer.
Phantom Gourmet gift card. Gone bust?
We were at DeNero's in Cohasset last Friday night and it had a notice posted that it would not honor the Phantom Gourmet Gift Cards. DeNero's had a letter from PG and a form to sign and send back to PG with your gift card. PG will issue new gift card and, for a limited time, PG will return the card with 110% of the remaining value of your card. I found it extremely frustrating that PG did not have this information on its website as of last Friday night. I checked PG's website to see what restaurants participated in its program and could not find any information. You would think PG would make people aware of the situation. Anyways, PG plans on having the new gift cards working as of October 15, 2009. By the way, DeNero's was excellent. Also, it has great deal on Monday and Tuesdays (at least as of a month ago); think $14 for a 3 course meal. Check it out.
Missing Brambles from Hanley's in W. Roxbury
Thanks for the information. Hopefully, you will find the recipe. I haven't been too impressed by Sugar.
Hilltop News
We use to go to the Braintree location for meat, but gave up due to bad quality. We would buy the NY sirloin on numerous occassions and it was tough along with grizzle. We thought maybe it was just a bad batch of meat. Now, we buy our meat (prime rib, steaks, etc) at Costco and it is great. The only item that I miss is the salad dressing with red wine.
Lots of fresh mozzarella
I have seen sun-dried tomatoes at the Costco at Dedham. I have not tried them yet.
Any good eats near Nantasket Beach
I would recommend La Dalat, Thia restaurant, opposite the beach. Food is very good - try the beef curry in the clay pot. We usually sit on the bar side. Owner is very nice. Also, agree on Bridgeman's - highly recommend. It has a patio which is great on warm evenings. Beach Club has out door seating on the rocks along with good burgers. There are a lot of good place there. One of these days may actually try the Red Parrott, but.....
North End Dolce Vita Ristorante?
Try Eclano on Salem St. They are very accomodating and the food is very good.
looking for favorite sausage places
In Roslindale Square, try Tony's Market on Washington St. Old fashioned Italian butcher that makes his own sausages. Very good.
South Shore-where to eat?
Highly recommend Bridgeman's. Unfortunately, it doesn't have the eggplant appetizer during the winter.
Barker Tavern in Scituate - pub side. I don't think it serves its pub menu on Sat nights, however. Small area.
Liberty Grill pizza.
best italian not italian-american in the Boston area?
I would also recommend Eclano on Salem St in the North End. Last weekend we had wild boar, duck, hangar beef and tuna during a 4 hour feast there. It was amazing. They also did a great job matching wines with the food. Highly recommend this place.
Searching for...spinach/feta pitas...help appreciated!
Try Bob's Pita Bread in Roslindale Square (it is next to Delfinos). Bob's bakes pita bread there along with selling vegetables, pita bread, and olives - good stuff and prices. In the past, I have gotten the feta and spinach topping on their own pita bread. Think there are 3 or 4 in a package (near the cash register). They look like mini-pizzas. Bob also has some other toppings available. It also sells turnovers that contain meat (not sure what you call them). Enjoy.
good seafood near medford
Turner's, too. The Portugese Fish Stew is a big hit with us. We typically sit at the oyster bar. I would recommend making reservations for a large party. Try the chocolate moulten cake while you are there.
We were at Vinny's (borders Somerville and Medford) last week and had the broiled haddock in a tomato sauce. Delcious!!!!! Vinny's offers a variety of seafood dishes.
Tagine
We were in Montreal recently and purchased a tangine at the outdoor food market in Montreal. Our cost was approximately $40. We were told it was suitable for 6 individuals. We haven't used it yet, however. The market is absolutely spectacular. It puts Haymarket to shame and then some. Our afternoon at the Montreal market was one of the highlights of our trip. Any chowhound would love it. Check out the Montreal board for information on the market. If I can find the business card from the owner, I will post it.
