Good beer bars on the Cape, open on Thanksgiving? (cross-posted from "Beer" board)
The best i found while there a couple months ago was The Squealing Pig in Ptown. Had a bunch of Belgians and lots of other choices. Not a real esoteric selection or anything but solid for the area. The food was also quite good, I really enjoyed their smoked fish chowder.

Help me find a GOOD Bakery on the North Shore
A&J King Bakery in Salem. Better than some I've been to in Europe.

Meritage for Restaurant Week?
Went a while back and i thought it was ok. Food was not bad but nothing to get excited about. My wife really hated it though.
late lunch/early dinner before celtics game tommorrow
I will be going to the Celtics game tomorrow and would like to have a meal beforehand. It's a 6 pm game so it would have to be someplace open around 3-4ish. Bad weather tomorrow so anywhere within a 10 minute walk from the garden would be ideal but i would be willing to walk a bit farther if it meant a better meal. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
A&J Bakery in Salem--a new local gem (long)
It is great. I live a few minutes walk from the bakery and i'm very thankful a place as good as this exists in my town. I've been going there often since they opened and have pretty much enjoyed everything they make. Being able to stop by before work for a pastry and some coffee is a godsend. Highly recomended.
Maine shrimp season has started!
I bought some last night at the shaws in Salem, Ma. I would assume that shaws all around the region would be carrying them.
Lunch in Salem, MA
I'd try The Old Spot at 121 essex, near the common and accross from the hawthorne hotel. Where Mcswiggins used to be. Been there a couple times the past few weeks and have been impressed with the food. Much better then most of the offerings in Salem and fairly affordable too. Great beer list!
