recommendations for an anniversary dinner - a romantic spot that will not disappoint?
i am looking for a solid restaurant that will not disappoint for my anniversary dinner. i am aware of the usual special occasion spots in the city - gramercy tavern, bouley, one if by land... - but don't really want to spend an arm and a leg. that being said, i am fine to spend around $200 when it's all said and done. i've been considering the river cafe, annisa and blue hill. any other suggestions? i'd like a nice romantic ambiance and good, flavorful food.
thank you!
recent reviews of annisa?
has anyone been to eat here lately? i am considering it for an anniversary dinner this weekend. any thoughts would be appreciated. never been there before.
thanks!

celebrating 1st wedding anniversary - restaurants with good views AND food
i am about to celebrate my 1st wedding anniversary and want to make it a memorable one. i am interested in a restaurant with lovely views of the city but good food as well. the ones that i've come across so far don't seem to have the greatest reviews for food - the water club, river cafe, terrace in the sky (i think it's called), etc.
does anyone have any suggestions? i've also looked into dining on a yacht/cruise around manhattan but don't know much about it and don't want to spend a ton and not be satisfied.
i am fine to pay approximately $200 or so when it's all said and done.
any ideas of memorable/romantic nyc dining establishments?
i'd appreciate any suggestions!
thanks...

strong margaritas and authentic mexican is right up my alley...the only downside, i guess, is that midtown isn't that happenin' on the weekends as far as walking to a bar afterwards. hmmm...i think i'll go there soon myself!

nyc dinner spot for a special reunion of girlfriends
hi jeremy! thanks for the reply and the advice; i am a little new to this site.
i think the budget would be about $50 per person including drinks and the only restrictions are that a couple of them are vegetarians so i'd like to make sure that they have some options. here are my ideas so far if anyone has any opinion on them:
*the red cat in chelsea
*the stanton social
*lupa or otto
*tamarind
*tabla bread bar
it's hard to please a big groups and i know you can't please everyone but i am still gonna' try!
cheers!!

any ideas/suggestions for a fun dinner spot that won't break everyone's budget for a group of 7 girlfriends reuniting after not seeing each other for 5 years? i am the only one who lives here so i want to make the res and hopefully please everyone. good wine list, good food, fun atmosphere but does not have to be the "hippest" place around.
let me know if anything comes to mind...
cheers!
Memphis nice dinner
mc ewans has a great wine list and yummy southern food. stella is a good choice as well...chef johnny kirk knows what he's doing...and, felicia suzanne's will not disappoint. you can't go wrong with either of these. also, have a cocktail beforehand at the madison hotel. bon appetit!
traveling from seattle to portland to northern california to san fran
flying to seattle w/ boyfriend in late november...will stay there for a few days, then drive to portland for a few days, then northern california (in trinidad)for a few days, then boonville for a night and then finally, san fran for 3 days. i like to explore restaurants from walking around the city but prefer to have at least a couple in each city that i've heard good things about. any recs for restaurants in seattle, portland, near trinidad, and/or san fran that serve good food? not fancy food, not super-expensive food...more just along the lines of where the locals might eat. any and all cuisines are welcome. i like it all!
