Finally went to Tavolo. I will not return, The service was awful! Slow... and it appeared that our presence was an annoyance. Food was ok, really nothing special. Very disappointed.

6 burners vs. 4 + griddle
Please make sure you let us know what you decide! Enjoy the process. You will not make a mistake.
6 burners vs. 4 + griddle
Great point. Keepemfed should examine his/her habits! Not for everyone!
6 burners vs. 4 + griddle
While the top of stove griddles appear to work well, they are nothing compared to the in-stove griddle, in my humble opinion. I've had both and the stove griddle is wonderful. Beautiful even browning, no hot spots...Fabulous! As far as the grill, it causes a great deal of smoke! I have a very powerful hood, but when I use my grill pan, I have to turn it way the heck up, making for a very loud environment. Again, this is my opinion...just trying to present all sides to the OP.
6 burners vs. 4 + griddle
Yes, I am happy with DCS. Great heat distribution and easy to clean. The simmer setting does a great job. Gentle even heat. I liked the Thermador but it makes a clicking sound while on simmer! I think it would drive me mad! :-)
6 burners vs. 4 + griddle
I purchased my cooktop 5 years ago after what seemed like a ridiculous amount of research. I went with 36 in. DCS (now owned by Fisher and Paykel) 4 burner with griddle. All burners have 17,500 BTUs with 500 BTU simmer. We love the griddle and use it all the time for pancakes and grilled sandwiches. I don't use it for bacon because it is too messy to clean. I remember when it was delivered, I had buyers remorse about the griddle. It didn't take long to see that I made the right decision. I cook and entertain quite a bit and never once wished I had the 6 burners. ENJOY and good luck!
Anything interesting to eat Brockton, MA
Chang Feng was sold. I wish it was still there. The food was fresh and delicious! Haven't tried the new owners...may have changed hands twice since Chang Feng closed.

Thank you to all who took the time to answer. I have food for thought for other visits...we succumbed to the siren song of Rosa Mexicana. Yummy!

Low 20 entrees... will walk or cab a bit. Don't want to be in lower Manhattan.
Cooktop, wall ovens
Sorry... haven't been on lately. Ovens are working great after 5 1/2 years except the control panel went out. Will cost about $450 to fix. Yikes! Oven still works beautifully. I will fix eventually. I LOVE my ovens! Good luck! (I do not own stock.)
Seeking real gingerbread
Ginger Bettys is the best. Don't know if it fits the bill of the original poster, but worth a visit. The Snaps are to die for!

very tricky guest list...
I know I am late to the party, but, am I the only one who gets cold food (fries and other sides and dishes that are supposed to be hot) at Fat Cat? The only reason I return is because some friends like it and I don't want to be a pain. I always hope things will be different. Have mentioned this to management.

The person who owns it is extremely pleasant. I want to love it for his sake, but there is something missing. If you want good food on a golf course, go to The Tavern at Granite Links...YUM!
Any update on Basta Pasta coming to Quincy?
I have never been to the Cambridge location, but it seems from the web site that there is no table service. Is that true and do you know if that will be the situation in Quincy?
Source for boneless short ribs
Hilltop always has them when I am in the market for them. They have always been delicious, well marbled and the perfect size. Price is right, also.
Bummer clams at Tony's, Wollaston
Had fried clams again, and once again, they were perfect. Sweet and cooked to perfection. I just love the subjective nature of food! In fact, I am glad you'll be going to the Clam Box because that means less of a wait for me :)

Bummer clams at Tony's, Wollaston
I'm with you. The bigger the belly, the better. (of course I'm referring to the clams, not myself.) Had a clam plate at Tony's about a week ago and had to restrain myself from moaning out loud. The clams were sweet, tender and perfectly fried. The bellies were large and bursting with flavor. I dream about their french fries. YUM
