Hidden Gem Baltimore County North?
Looking for a dinner spot in Northern Baltimore County. Places I have thought of are Peerces and Henry's. Can be casual to fine dining. Tasty food is a must. Hoping for a little known place that might fit the bill.

rehoboth - Great New Eats
I had a few good meals in Rehoboth last week. There is a new place called Salt Air. It is in the spot that used to be Celsius. The meal was excellent. Atmosphere is comfortable and not too stuffy. They are serving comfort food but with a nice twist. I had a great Seafood Stew, excellent dessert which was a malted banana pudding. My friends had a great brined roast chicken with roasted beets and potatoes. The smith Island Crab cakes were sweet and flavorful.
Also went to Lily Thai on North First Street. Yummy meal with good pad thai and ginger chicken and larb gai. Prices reasonable and casual.
Not new but great food and service:
Mariachi on Wilmington is always good. The owner is very nice and always makes sure you are happy. Great Pork Carnitas.
Double Dippers Ice Cream in First Street - Great Ice Cream served by the nicest guys in Rehoboth.
Surf Bagel - OMG Best bagels I have found Between Baltimore and Rehoboth.
It is nice to have a few places in rehoboth that Strive for better than mediocre
best crab cake baltimore
I recently had the best crab cake I have out in years. It was from Pappas on Taylor Avenue. Had them broiled and ate at home .delish. no filler. great crab flavor and not a bad value at $10 for 6 oz cake.
El Nayar in Catonsville?!
We ordered lunch from el nayar. We were feeding a staff of 20. Each ordered an entree. Serving size was really small. Everyone was hungry afterwards. Food tasted ok but nothing to rave about like some of the postings about the elkridge location.
rehoboth brunch and dinner
We get to rehoboth quite a bit but never eat breakfast out. Looking for a yummy brunch. Also a nice place to have dinner birthday celebration. been to nage and cultered pearl. Enjoyed them both. Anywhere else come to mind? Thanks for the help.
Update on former Taste location in Belvedere Square
We went a couple nights after opening. Not very impressed. Interior is the same as Taste. Two of the three of us had steak and both were over cooked. Mine was so well done it was tough. This was the ny strip which was a very thin cut. Lmab chop app etizer ( same as christopher daniel ) was overcooked as well. shrimp with risotto was good and presented nicely. Roast Chix was moist and had a nice crisp skin. After the meal, we were not adventurous enough to try desert. I am sure some of the cooking issues are due to opening week problems. Might go back but would order a salad or something on the less expensive part of the menu.
dinner dilema baltimore
We went to Samos. What a great place. We had the saganaki cheese and greek sausage with fetta for apps. Both good. Then had the sampler platter (souflaki, gyro, dolmades, spanikopita, and roasted veg.) Very tasty and well seasoned. Will be back as soon as posible. Thanks for the input.

Homemade Meatsauce in Baltimore
Artful Gourmet in Owings Mills, does tasty Italian. Not so sure that they do a meat sauce. I know their marinara is great and very fresh tasting. Worth a visit if you've never been.
Good Baltimore Brunch
Today we celebrated my birthday with a late brunch / lunch at Miss. Shirleys. We were a party of 8 including 2 kids. I was very disapointed. We were seated within 15 minutes (pretty good). Our acne face covered waiter was a bit overwhelming with suggestions that turned out not so hot.
APPS-We chose a few items for apps; 2 orders of potato pancakes, sweet potato fries, basket of biscuits, and fried green tomoatoes. The waiter did not place both orders of potato pancakes. The biscuits were good, fries were greasy and limp and the potato pancakes were tough. The other order showed up after a second inquiry.
Main Dish- 4 of us chose different pancake dishes. I ordered oatmeal raisin pancakes with cream cheese icing. They came out as cinnamon pancakes. He reordered and they came out 20 minutes after everyone else had been eating. The pancakes were very heavy and dense. There was no cream cheese icing. My father's blueberry pancakes were nice and light. The kids enjoyed their banana pancakes and chocolate pancakes. The egg dishes looked better. The Oyster shirley fella was enjoyed and the smoked salmon benedict also. Two got sanwiches which both seemed good but not great. My pancakes were removed from the bill after a third inquiry on how everything was. No one told us they were not charging for my pancakes just happened to notice. Very poor service and management. We were there at the end of their busy rush, maybe that was the problem. Wish I had gone back to Cynthias instead.
Good Baltimore Brunch
Thanks for the suggestions. It looks like we will give Miss Shirley's a try. Since they don't take reservations, we will make it a late lunch instead.
Good Baltimore Brunch
I am celebrating a birthday with family on a Sunday. We usually do brunch but need some suggestions of where to go. Last year we did Cynthias. It was excellent and would recommend it highly. Looking for good food that is a little innovative in a relaxed atmosphere. Thanks for the help.
Recipe Software [Moved from Home Cooking board]
I am in need of new recipe software. My old program does not work on new computers. Anyone heard of any software that is good for organizing recipes ?
Passover cake question
yes, you can definately freeze them. they will keep the best that way. if you are doing a day or 2 ahead don't worry about it but if any longer, i would freeze. Either way, keep wrapped with plastic wrap. good luck.

Atlantic City for one night
Sure, started with arancini - risotto balls filled with truffles and fontina. Frittelle- small squares of pasta with salami and pecorino. The risotto ballls were great. Entrees were rigatoni bolognese (tasty) and cappalachi - ravioli filled with robiola cheese with a beef ragu. The raviola were exceptional. First time having the rabiola cheese. It is like a cross betweeen marscapone and cream cheese. We skipped dessert and picked up a chocolate raspberry lava cake in a more casual place in the casino. overall very nice meal. a bit noisy but comfortable atmosphere.
David Chu's Bistro on Reisterstown Road- has anybody been?
I agree Mari Luna is my favorite place in that area. Nice folks and excellent food. it is across from hollywood video.
Atlantic City for one night
Ended up at Ombra in The Borgata. It was a good meal. Although a noisy room . We were both very happy with our meals. Desert list was uninspiring so we went elsewhear for sweets. Prices weren't bad for a Borgata restaraunt.

Looking for a Wedding Caterer who specializes in Mediterranean.
That is funny, I was going to suggest Dionysus Kitchen to you. The bakery i work for has worked with him in the past. Never had his food so can't say personally. Have you tried Linwoods. They might be pricier than you are thinking but might be worth a try.

I and a friend will be staying at The Borgata for one night in a couple weeks. Any suggestions for dinner. We like most food done well. Steak and Italian is always good. Anyone know about the restaurants in The Borgata? Will have a car but not familiar with the area. Thanks for your help.
