Restaurants in or near Chelsea
I'd second Omai on 9th Avenue btw 19th & 20th - I've never been disappointed and entrees are as low as $12.
Also, Spice on 8th (& 20th, I think) has great Thai and is resonable as well.
Chelsea Market is great for specialty food shops. I highly reommend the NY-style crumb cake at Ruthy's! :)
The Park, on 10th Ave btw 18th & 19th has a great vibe, especially on weekend nights. The menu prices may be a bit high for you, but the burger with fries is $9 and very good - the fries are done with rosemary and have a wonderful (sinful) flavor - leave the ketchup in the bottle!
Cru, Per Se, or Annisa? Celebratory Dinner.
Thanks all, for your suggestions. We couldn't get in to any of these three for the night we needed - so, we dined at Savoy on Princt St. (based on another reco from a friend). The dinner was very good, and very fresh! Savoy works with local growers and provides and interesting menu. The baked duck was probably the best I've ever had!
Pearl Oyster Bar for non-shellfish eater
Any reason to go to P.O.B. if I don't ast shellfish? I do eat fish, just not shellfish - so the lobster roll is a no-go.
Thanks!
23rd street / 6th and 7th Avenue- What's good in the neighborhood?
For sure try Spice for lunch (8th & 20th), well under $10. Their dinner is good too and in your price range. I must say I enjoyed my meal at Omai, as well (9th btw 19th & 20th). Noodle bowls are around $15, but a fish entree could go as high as $22. The tuna appt. is very good.
Cru, Per Se, or Annisa? Celebratory Dinner.
I'm celebrating the end of my tenure with my company this week and need a recommendation. A few things to consider: we're all under 40 and like a fun, but refined atmosphere; we all very into food and wine (including one former restaurant owner); I'd like a unique expereince, one I'm not likely to have again; but I don't want a long-drawn out meal that lasts hours and hours. I've read the boards a bit and see that Cru, Per Se, or Annisa may be good options. Can I get in with only three-days notice (party of three or four)?
