all-clad 6-qt 'saute pot'

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this or a strong opinion on its usefulness one way or the other. I like the idea of one pot doing the work of two as long as it can perform those tasks admirably. It has the diameter of a large saute pan (10-12") and is approximately the height of a 3-4 qt sauce pot. I was looking into saute pans when I came across this so my main concern would regard any drawbacks of having a saute pan that isn't as shallow as traditionally designed. Not having a large sauce pot, the ability to use it for dishes like curries would be a plus. Interestingly All-Clad has it priced below its comparably-sized saute pan.
thank you.

Japanese tapas/izakaya, maybe fusion-y on Sunset or Hollywood Blvd ?

Perhaps you are thinking of a different place. That being said, a lot of the selections that I ordered were from their daily specials, and I did enjoy it quite a bit (although, if nothing from their regular menu looked interesting, the daily specials might not be to your taste either).

Yebisu Beer in LA?

Yes they do.. thank you. I actually have one of the "Red Rice" varieties sitting next to me now that I picked up there on my last trip. I'll look for those Sparkling Sakes next time.. not sure if it will replace the Champagne on New Year's, but it's worth a try.

Yebisu Beer in LA?

Nijiya definitely carried it previously. I haven't seen it there in a while though. The last time I tried to order it at a restaurant that still had it listed on the menu, they brought out a Sapporo instead, saying they couldn't get Yebisu anymore.

Thanks for the tip on the Beverage Warehouse carrying Hitachino Nest. It wasn't listed on their website so I never went there to look for it. Have you seen Echigo beer available there (or perhaps someplace else) as well?
