Good Pizza Delivery Options for Uptown??
Thanks for all the recommendations. We did a thick and thin crust pizza from Giordanos and were not disappointed. Next time I will think about trying Calo's or Apart.
Good Pizza Delivery Options for Uptown??
I have a fantasy football draft with the guys in Uptown near Lawrence and Broadway. Can anyone recommend some good pizza places that would deliver to that area. Happy to do thick or thin and enjoy some of the following places for pizza: Edarwdos Spinach, Art of Pizza deep dish, Lou Malnatis and Gino's East. Happy to do a good local place in that area if they deliver to that area. Thanks.

Help with finding good Asian restaurants in the Barrington area (Thai, Indian, Japanese, etc)
I live in the city and have found alot of great Asian restaurants in Chicago through different postings on Craigslist. I was out last night with a friend who has moved back to the Chicago area and lives in Barrington now. He is looking for good Asian food in the Barrington area without having to travel downtown.
He is especially interested in Indian, Thai and Japanese food. However, he pretty much enjoys all types of Asian food. Traveling to the Arlington Heights/Mt Prospect area is not too far for him to travel. I realize there are a number of good Asian restaurants in that area.
Thanks in advance for your recommendation.
Looking for apple strudel
I had a very good apple strudel from Dinkels in Lakeview last week. I believe they have a delivery option.
Dining suggestions for meal before Nationals game in DC area, Chowhound coming from Chicago
I am headed tomorrow to see the Cubs play the Nationals in DC. I have been to DC a few times, but it has been a number of years since my last visit. I am looking for good reasonably priced meal for under $75 for 2 people without drinks. We driving in from Philly so anywhere along the highway to the stadium that does not require more than a 15 minute drive each way off the highway or 15 minutes from the stadium would be great. I eat alot of Asian and Mexican food in Chicago so looking for something else. Recommendations for BBQ, seafood, Italian or any other types of food would be much appreciated. It doesn't matter to me if it is a hole-in-the-wall or a finer restaurant. Thanks!!!
Anyone been to Nonna's Italian Pizzeria?
Thanks for the advice on skipping the $20 coupon. I never went ahead and ordered the gift certificate and sounds like a made a good decision.
Anyone been to Nonna's Italian Pizzeria?
Groupon today is offering a $20 gift certicate for just $10 to Nonna's Italian Pizzeria. I rode my bike by Nonna's on Segwick just south of North Ave. However, they were not yet open and couldn't get a good idea if the place is worth trying. Anyone been there and willing to give some feedback? Thanks!
Seeking an Authenic German Restaurant in Chicago
I am looking to take out a friend of mine for some good, authenic German food. He lived a number of years in Germany and complains that he has a hard time finding a good German restaurant with authenic food. Can anyone offer a restaurant or two for us to try. Danke schon!!
Anyone been to Tam popo for Japanese recently?
I have been invited to Tam Poco this evening for some Japanese food and was wondering if anyone had some info on the place. I will probably order some sushi, appetizers and some hot dishes like sukiyaki. Is there anything they do particularly well?

A Good Indian Buffet On Devon
I ended up going to the Viceroy of India for our buffet lunch. The cost was $9.95 and included nan and tandori chicken. I especially enjoyed the butter chicken and samosas. The only thing I thought was below average was the goat dish they served. They offer 2 meat dishes, approximately 5 vegetarian dishes, salad and soup. I was very happy with the mango ice cream, strawberry mousse and rice pudding for dessert. The service was attentive and I would give the place a strong recommendation for it's buffet. The only thing I would like was a spicy dish or two included with their buffet. The dishes were flavorful but none had the spicy flavor that I enjoy. Is this because they tone down their dishes for a buffet.
A Good Indian Buffet On Devon
A friend and I are headed to Devon later this afternoon for lunch and want to do one of the bufftets. The last time I went to the Viceroy of India and enjoyed our buffet. Anyone have recommendations for places that serve a buffet for under $10? I will be happy to report back on our lunch this afternoon,

Help: Good hot dogs and pizza in Schaumburg with delivery around midnight for a wedding
My good friend is getting married in Schaumburg next weekend. He wants to treat his guests to some late night food at the end of the reception. We thought pizzas and hot dogs would hit the post. We have one recommendation for hot dogs from Superdawg for hot dogs. Or if you have any other food ideas we welcome the recommendations.
We need a place that will deliver the food to the hotel around midnight. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
Where to go for Italian on the Northside?
Thanks for all of your advice on places. I couldn't get a reservation at Mia Francescas for the time I wanted so we are going to Topo Giogio. It is a convenient location for all of us and I enjoyed the food a great deal when I was there a few weeks ago. I had their pasta special of the day which included black ink linguini, great cream sauce and loads of fresh seafood.
Where to go for Italian on the Northside?
I am going out with a group of 6 Japanese (4adults and 2 teenagers) out for dinner tomorrow night. They have all lived in the States and are comfortable with the restaurant scene in Chicago. I'd like to get them some good Italian food and would like the restaurant to be no further north then Wrigleyville(3600 north). One family will be sightseeing downtown and have a car for transport. The others will be coming in on the Kennedy for the burbs by car.
Looking for a mid-ranged Italian restaurant with good food. Right now thinking of going to Mia Francescas on Clark. I also thought of Rose Angelis on Wrightwood but heard from others that they were disappointed with the food on their last recent meal. Any ideas on where to go?
I'd like a place where I can make a reservation and 2 of our party may be a bit late. Therefore, want a restaurant that would seat the 5 of us so we can start with appetizers before the last 2 arrive. Last of all, valet is a plus. Any recommendations you have would be much appreciated.

I thought some of you might be interested reading about the special fast foods on the south side. I think I want to try a mother-in-law.
Going to Ras Dashen for my first time having Ethiopian!
Thanks to all of you who gave me recommendations. We ordered the following dishes: veges dishes(diblik atkilt, misser wat, qosta) and zilzil alicha(beef) and Vebeg tibs(lamb).
I thought everything was good with me liking the diblik atklilt and zizzil alicha best. We had them bring some extra chili sauce as I found the dishes to be flavorful but not so spicy. I loved the concept of eating with my hands as it brought back memories of eating in southern India. We washed it all down with a South African red wine.
The service was excellent and the place was crowded for a Monday night. I plan to make Ethiopian food part of diet and will be back at the Ras Dashen.
Going to Ras Dashen for my first time having Ethiopian!
At the moment it will be only 2 of us attending.
Going to Ras Dashen for my first time having Ethiopian!
I love ethnic food and I'm embarrased to say I have never tried Ethiopian. So I decided this is the week I finally try it. I did some searching on the board and it seems that Ras Dashen gets the best reviews for Ethiopain food. I checked out the website for Ras Dashen and now just looking for recommendations on what to order for a first timer. Eat pretty much anything so looking to order what they do best at Ras Dashen. Thanks for any opinions you have on their food.

Food recommendations for Cafe BaBaReeba??
Going with a group to celebrate a birthday at Cafe BaBaReeba on Halsted. I have been to Cafe Iberico many times, but never been to Cafe BaBaReeba. Any food recommendations or the tapas they do well. I love fish and seafood but very adventurous when it comes to trying new dishes. Also, how is the sangaria there? Thanks for all your help.
Restaurant Options for Oak Park/Cicero Area(Italian or other ethnic)
Going to dinner tomorrow night with a friend from Argentina. She lives in Cicero and I'm from the city so I am not real familiar with the area when it comes to restaurants. Looking for a mid-priced restaurant with entrees in the $10 to $20 range(prefer closer to $10 than $20 but can do $20). She likes Italian so that would be a first choice. However, would consider Mexican, Thai and almost any other ethnic restaurant. Who has good pizza in the area? Also, any of your restaurants BYOB.
What is the pricing like at Amarinds? Would love to try out the place if she was game.
This weekend in Pittsburgh
I have a group of guys in their 30's coming into Pittsburgh for this weekend to watch the Cubs / Pirates and hopefully eat some good food. Also, plan to spend some time in a bar drinking and watching football.
Sounds like Pamela's is good for breakfast. Is it near our hotel or would you have another place you can recommend for Saturday breakfast. Not looking for anything fancy.
I'm told we will be having lunch at Church's Brewery one of the days.
We will be staying at the Doubletree Hotel in downtown Pittsburgh and probably will not rent a car. We're happy to walk and take a cab if needed.
Not looking for pizza and would welcome any ideas on all types of ethnic food. Planning to go to Primanti one late night for Pittsburgh's famous sandwich.
Where would you recommend to watch the Steelers and Bears game on Sunday? Planning to spend Sunday in a bar for opening of NFL season.
Any info would be appreciated!
Dining options in Baraboo, Wisconsin
Hi, headed to Devil's Lake State Park for some camping. Plan to spend one night going into Baraboo for dinner. Any good local resaurants that you can recommend would be appreciated. They can be on the expensive side or cheaper but having good food. Love fish but would do just about anything but pizza. Thanks!!
chili con queso, not queso fundido
I should also mention that I am looking for a place not too far from the Lakeview area.
chili con queso, not queso fundido
Looking for a place in Chicago other than Uncle Julios that has the MELTED cheese /chili con queso dip...not the kind of cheese that's partially melted severed, ofetn in a skillet... someone ealier said Fernandos? I know they have it at Chilis too but looking for a non-chain option!
Where to eat in Springfield, MO?? There for business monthly.
Going to Springfield, MO once a month now for business and need to find some good places to eat. I enjoy steaks, seafood, ethnic and Italian food. Sometimes a good salad works for dinner and enjoy things on the healthier side. I have a buget of $40 for dinner for one so that should give me lots of options. Also, would consider places on the cheap end if they are good. Thanks for any recommendations you can provide.
