FINALLY! Good Chinese food to order in , in Park Slope (Michael and Pings)
BrookBoy, I think your comments are right on. And I am glad you gave M and P another chance. Try a pork main dish with Hamilayan red rice next time you order.

Forgive me if this has been posted/discussed before. But we are extremely delighted with Michael and Pings. A variety of choices, always delivered hot and within 20 minutes. Now I am not going to say that it is fantatstic Chinese food, but it is the best in Park Slope. Last night we had 2 soups (egg drop and wonton) They were delicious and freshly made. We followed with samosas and pork dumplings. Excellent. We have also had a various main dishes: all very good. I also like that they know your address by your phone number; cuts down the time in ordering.

Out of Towners coming to NYC want Indian or Vietnamese
kathryn, I would say not more than $40.00 per person for food. Thanks.
Out of Towners coming to NYC want Indian or Vietnamese
A good friend and her adolescent daughter are coming from outside Chicago to see some shows in NYC. They are staying in midtown on the East Side. I will meet her for dinner on a Sunday. They have expressed a preference for Indian or Vietnamese. Hounders, what are your thoughts and recommendations. Thanks.
STARTING A NEW JOB IN THE BRONX
I need your help, chowhounders! At the end of this month I will begin working at Webster Avenue and 178th Street. Can anyone recommend any places for lunch? Thank you.
Montauk in November
Taking the jitney (no car) to stay a couple of days in Montauk. What restaurants in the village will be open that serve good food.
Thanks Hounds for your assistance.
Need a good restaurant experience on the upper west side.
Two people; me and the wife
Need a good restaurant experience on the upper west side.
Will be on 90th street, but can walk a bit. For about $80.00 including a bottle of wine. Open for any cuisine.
Need a good restaurant experience on the upper west side.
Live in Park Slope, but next Monday I have a meeting on the Upper West Side. I know there have been a lot of new quality restaurants that opened. But I am out of the loop living on the outer borough site. Need a good dinner for not a lot of money. Thank you in advance to all the hounders that assist.
Advice for Bay Ridge Day Trip?
A & S Pork on 5th avenue in PS is now M & S Pork store (for mel and sal) Not as much of a selection as Bay Ridge A&S, but the fresh mozarella still is the tops.
Fonda on 7th Ave in the Slope
Does it have any relation to the owner of ZuZu's petals?
I need my fresh mozzarella
Does anyone have any info on when A & S Pork store will reopen in their new space. I went back a month looking for any posts. Thanks.
New Green Bo - Tired
KT and BO-
Approximately 2 - 3 years ago, the wife and I did a comparision of Shanghai restaurants over the course of 3 - 4 months and I will say that at that time and still today, Joe's is still tops- in regard to the soup dumplings (most importantly) The pork and crab together is superb. in addition, overall freshness and quality of dishes. We love Spinach with tofu in meat sauce dish; it is usually on the specials list.
Where to celebrate 40th birthday?
B. Fly, I would suggest that you split it up: eat, then go to a club. To have a good meal with ambience and dancing is probably asking too much. That said, alot of fun for a group is to get a private room at a Chinatown restaurant. Most would let you set a 4 - 5 course dinner.
Pre-theater dining
I am usually on the outer-borough board as I live in Brooklyn.
I have theater tickets for a Saturday night in February and wanted a recommendation for dinner before. Want good food, not expensive, not rushed. Thanks.
