Hatfield's or JiRaffe? Dinner in Los Angeles Area

Compared to some of the other meals i have had lately where I am blown away, (anisette, craft, wolfgangs), hatfields was just alright. I only liked the croque madame because the yellowtail was great, but i could have done w less brioche. I was tempted by the pinenut tart but figured there was no way it could be as good as the one at craft or la terza. Honestly, I cant imagine how good the desserts could of been at hatfields based on the little cupcakes with chocolate merengue on top they gave us with our checks, at best they tasted like a ding dong, which isnt too appealing to me.

p.s. Bigg Chill has amazing frozen yogurt. How else do you explain the long lines out the door?

Hatfield's or JiRaffe? Dinner in Los Angeles Area

Just went to Hatfields last night and at best had an ok dinner. The highlights were the warm cheese rolls, the corn and melon chilled soup (the amuse), and my croque madame. The croque madame was actually very good! I got the buttermilk chicken. It had the oddest texture and really lacked in flavor. My friend had the octopus salad which was ok and the olive oil poached halibut, again only ok. Instead of getting dessert there, my friend and I went to the Bigg Chill. I had toffee and vanilla cappuccino with granola, walnuts and butterfinger. The frozen yogurt was amazing, it cost $4.50, and was the best thing we ate!

For two apps and two entrees it cost $120. For me, the mediocre food wasnt worth the price. I would have been much happier spending more going to Craft!

Youbars

So i saw this on a news special. you can build your own bars! its really cool! you get to choose the base, nuts/chocolate, fruit, sweetners, etc. I just ordered mine and am excited to see how they taste. heres the website www.youbars.com

Veggie Grill - El Segundo Edge

I just tried this place over the weekend and i was pleasantly surprised. I recently stopped eating red meat and was desperately craving In-n-Out and this place definitely hit the spot! I got the bali burger with added avocado and kale (rather than cole slaw) on the side and an iced tea. the bill was $14, a bit pricey for what is essentially vegan fast food. while i waited for my food to go i was eyeing what other people ordered and i was disappointed i didnt order the chili sweet potato fries because they looked delicious. the bali burger was sooo good. biting into the burger i felt all the great textures that i would almost get biting into an In-n-Out burger. great combination of flavors especially with the dressing that was suppose to mock either mayo or ranch dressing. the kale was cooked perfectly and came with a miso ginger dressing which was super good. I will definitely go back to this place to try the other menu items including the sweet potato fries!

Cheap & Healthy LA?

definitly second RFD. nothing on the menu is over 15 and you can get the filling real food meal (which potentially could be 2 meals) for about $13

Vegan Cuisine for the Consumate Carnivore

If you have been unimpressed by blandness of flavor definitely give the stir it up a try the way ive recommended it and the have a wonderful hot sauce you can shake into it to give it an extra kick. the flavors of the ginger and garlic (as well as the health benefits) on top of brown rice (you could also do soba noodles or the daily greens) is wonderful!

Vegan Cuisine for the Consumate Carnivore

Real Food Daily is one of my favorite restaurants and i eat there as much as 5 times a week and im not a vegan. yes their mexican food isnt overly greasy or super hot , but i always see people enjoying the tacos and nachos. i personally love getting the stir it up (ask for it w/ olive oil instead of canola and extra ginger and garlic) . The desserts are also amazing esp the coconut cream pie, the peanut butter banana cream cupcakes and the chocolate chip cookies w soy milk!
