Private room for my 12 person wedding?

And we're going with Ducale. Amazing food, no room fee, and right near the park! Perfect.

Has anyone had a party at Ducale? We're checking that out tonight. Looks to be just about right.

Thanks for all your suggestions! I should note my 12 person wedding has grown to 17-20 people. Damn these large Irish Catholic families.

Private room for my 12 person wedding?

We ditched the giant 100 person wedding in favor of getting hitched in the park with just our families, now we just need to find someplace to eat after! This is where you all amazing people come in.

We're in need of a restaurant in any neighborhood in Manhattan plus Astoria, pref Italian, ideally with a private room for 12 people, and magically still affordable ($20-25 entrees). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Phillipu in Astoria?

Anyone know what kind of food the new place on 31st Ave and 21st street will have? Used to be that cheesy Italian restaurant with the creepy gondola on the roof. I ran by there this morning and saw it's now called Phillipu.

We're staying at the Congress Plaza Hotel. Thanks for all the help.

We'll be staying near Grant Park. My boyfriend grew up in Chicago, hasn't lived there in many years but is adamant about having three food experiences, Chicago-style pizza, ribs, and peanut donuts from Dunkin Donuts (which don't exist in the Northeast). Our thinking is basically we arrive in the morning and need to grab breakfast near the hotel before heading to a Cubs game. Then we were planning on doing ribs the first night.

Next day, we'll be with the family which is why we're doing Giordano's during lunch, they wanted to do pizza with us and are leaving in the evening. We figured as much that pizza would be filling, hence a light sushi dinner, though we're welcome to any other places a light dinner could be found.

Only have time for breakfast on Sunday and Sola was suggested. Also open to suggestions for that, but something that would be near Grant Park/Buckingham fountain and/or on the way to O'Hare (we're taking the train).

Thanks a million!

Hey All,
A couple of New Yorkers spending a couple of days in Chicago this weekend. Here are our food plans, would appreciate any feedback. (We've heard mixed things about Twin Anchors but essentially we wanted to get some good ribs but have limited means of transportation)

Breakfast - Hackneys
Dinner- Twin Anchors
Lunch- Giordano's
Breakfast - Sola
Dinner - Any sushi suggestions?

Thanks!

Valentine's Ribs????

Ended up at Mara's Homemade in the East Village. Arkansas BBQ was fantastic, though the sides portions were small. Drinks were awesome.

Valentine's Ribs????

I'm no rib afficionado but we went to Virgil's before and while they had very tasty onion rings, the ribs were pretty fatty.

Suggestions for Annivesary Italian Dinner in Queens

Went last night to Trattoria L'Incontro. i loved the food and had been prepared for the setting. i would go back on a non romantic night.

Valentine's Ribs????

My boyfriend's birthday is Valentine's Day and he wants to go for ribs which is fine because I can look cute with sauce on my face.

The problem is Blue Smoke has no available reservations at a reasonable hour. What's another choice for ribs? We didn't particularly enjoy our experience at Virgil's.

Other suggestions?

Chowhound has yet to let me down.

Anniversary coming up at the end of January.

I would love to go someplace with great Italian food and a nice atmosphere. We live in Astoria but are willing to travel for the best. (but we don't have a car)

Delicious Burgers for Carnivores and Vegetarians

Half my friends are vegetarian, half are not. We're looking for a place to grab some burgers together in Manhattan without the vegetarians being stuck with just french fries or the carnivores stuck with chalk burgers. Suggestions?
