Chris DeBarr leaving Green Goddess!

I just hope that wherever he ends up, he will put the meatloaf and the chips fried in duck fat back on the menu......

About the Besh Soda Shoppe at the WWII Museum....

Is it INSIDE the Museum? Do you need to pay the entrance fee for the Museum to eat there?
Thanks!

CAFE (B)RAVO on Hyperion?

When I first drove by and noticed that the sign said CAFE RAVO, instead of BRAVO, I figured that one of the letters had fallen off, but now I've noticed it's the same over the door.
Anyone know what happened? More importantly, is it still any good?
Thanks!

Help me hone my NOLA Plans

We like eating at the Hermes Bar (part of Antoines). You can get those crazy-good puffy potato things and usually hear some good, live music (try to go when Alex MacMurray or Paul Sanchez is playing).

Help me hone my NOLA Plans

You can always eat at the bar at Mr. B's. We actually prefer to do that rather than plan in advance!

Barcelona Trip Report - May 8-11

OK, so where should I get them?

Is Cinc Sentits open for lunch on Saturdays?

Thanks, I just sent them an email!
We'll be there in late June, so I'm still beyond the two week reservation window!

Is Cinc Sentits open for lunch on Saturdays?

It's difficult to tell from the website; one page says M-F and another says Tues-Sat....

Thanks!

Catalonia/Basque Food Extravaganza - Trip Review

Can you please share how much your evening at Tickets was? We have reservations for next month and cannot WAIT!!
Thanks for sharing!

Question about Malacatin in Madrid!

I can't seem to find out what their hours are; specifically for lunch?
Also, the photos are mouth watering good; is the food served family style (those can't possibly be individual portions!).
Thanks!

Barcelona - A Few Questions About Sauc, Hisop, Tapac24, etc.

Looks like quite a few of us from LA will be in Barcelona this summer! We're from Woodland Hills and will be in Spain for two weeks in June!
We do have reservations for Tickets, but other than that, I keep adding and subtracting to my 'must go' restaurant list., but Fonda Gaig IS has definitely made the list!
Can't wait!!

Question about Can Marti in Barcelona!

Thank you both!

Question about Can Marti in Barcelona!

I am having a little trouble with the English translation of their website and cannot seem to find their hours; are they open for lunch or just dinner? What days?
If you go for dinner, do you get a sunset view or city lights?
Is it 'dressy' (I would guess not, since there is a section on the website about hiking/biking to the restaurant).

It sounds really tasty (even though we will miss calcot season).
Any other advice/suggestions?
Thanks!

Crawfish Boils This Weekend 2011

During FQF, at the "Esplanade in the Shade" stage, Rouses sponsors a giant boil all three days!

Cinc Sentits for lunch, 41 degrees for dinner?

According to their website, Tapioles 53 is closed for now.....

Ferran Adria's new spot

Got a reservation for Tickets this morning for June 21st!

BARCELONA DINING REPORT; 2/11 (continued; this is part two)

Do you have any idea how far in advance they accept reservations? I can't tell from the booking site if the reservations for June are not yet available OR if they are booked solid.

I'm hoping that they just don't book that far in advance....

Sylvain bar and bistro?

Thanks! When we come to town every year for FQF, we stay for a minimum of 8 days, so that leaves us plenty of time to try something/someplace different.
It's kind of ironic; you come to LA and get a burger at Father's Office and I can't wait to get back to Yo Mama's!

Sylvain bar and bistro?

Any recent visitors? We'll be in New Orleans in April and are curious.....
Have they introduced a less expensive WBTG option?

French Quarter Fest 2011

EAT usually has a booth at the Mint with shrimp and grits that are delicious.
Also, on the Esplanade side of the Mint, they have had a giant crawfish boil the last couple of years that was also pretty tasty.

New Orleans on a diet....

Walk everywhere! Whenever we go to New Orleans, we eat and drink ourselves silly, but since we WALK everywhere, we somehow never gain (a LOT of) weight..

Tipping in Europe [Split from Spain/Portugal board]

A few years back, we were in Italy and across the street from our hotel was a place that served GREAT gelato. We were in there a lot and always left a little change as a tip. Then, there was a huge soccer victory, the streets were mobbed with people and almost no where to eat. We went to the gelato place which WAS open and MOBBED. When the clerk saw us, she made people get out of our way so we could get to the counter and get our gelato!

If I am staying in a city for more than a few days and will be making a return visit to a cafe/restaurant/bar, it is always to MY advantage to leave a tip....

Is there anywhere good to eat in Figueres?

We are taking a day trip/tour from Barcelona to see the Dali Museum. The tour operator does not include lunch, but on the website says that there are "many places to chose from".

Does anyone have any specific suggestions ( I searched the board and came up with nothing).

Thanks

In MADRID, La Sanabresa hours/days.

AUGH>>> It wouldn't let me edit the title!! (figured out how....)
In MADRID, not Barcelona.
I have Spain on the brain.....

In MADRID, La Sanabresa hours/days.

I scoped out the website, but I don't see anywhere that indicates the days they are open and the hours....
I am particularly interested in finding out if they are open on Mondays for lunch and what the lunch hours are.

TIA

What is the name of the restaurant in Barcelona....

that was on the show, "On the Road Again'.?
Mario and Gweneth went to Montjuic (?) and had grilled seafood and vegetables and ate outdoors...

Thanks!

Glorious Mess: My relatively un-traumatic wedding report

More, please!!

One AMAZING restaurant for a special occasion!

We will eat pretty much anything, meat or seafood. We have done the 'molecular' at Jose Andres' restaurant in Los Angeles, Bazaar. While it was incredibly interesting on many levels, I wouldn't say it was one of the top 10 meals of my life.

We celebrated our 10th anniversary in Paris, our 15th in Venice and our 20th in Santorini. In all three places, I tried to find the nicest restaurant that showcases some of the the best food in the region.

It is our 25th wedding anniversary and we are going to Barcelona, so I think that we would be better off with something unique and special to the region.

In addition to the food, I'd like a romantic restaurant, maybe something with a view.

One AMAZING restaurant for a special occasion!

I'm kind of hoping to stay in Barcelona, without having to take a train to dinner and back......
Isn't there something great IN Barcelona?

One AMAZING restaurant for a special occasion!

I am looking for suggestions for one incredible restaurant to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary! Price is not an issue for this one meal, but it has to be in Barcelona (so no El Bulli), and have it ALL; great food, ambience , service, etc!

Thanks!
