Finally made it there today for lunch. Though I was impressed by the wide array of choices, the one thing I was in the mood for, a hamburger and fries, was no where to be found. I was in a hurry so I opted for the pre-made turkey sandwich($8.95). Though it tasted fine and the bread was very good, there was less than two slices of turkey in the sandwich. I will withhold further judgement until I have an opportunity to try some other things on the menu.

Ate at the new Circa NY downtown (111 Fulton St.) today. Yes it is a little small and still a little disorganized but still much better then the 'dungeon'.

Shelter Rock Jewish Center (DeLuxe Caterers)
we have been to several parties there. They are known to be 'high end' and on the expensive side. Their food is usually very good as well as the service. You must remember that as a guest we are subject to the personal choices of the hosts and you can never account for individual tastes.
New York Lunchbox
ate there today, still a little disorganized, but very clean. Seating upstairs. Various sandwiches, paninis, soups, made to order salads and hot food buffet (pay by the pound). Prices seem to be in line with similar places in the area.

yom tov/shabbat friendly ovens
We have a Kitchen-aid with 'shabbat mode' that we are happy with. The other responders are correct in saying that Shabbat mode is a misnomer, it is really only acceptable for Yom Tov and yes the temp. can be adjusted in this mode.
