Does anyone have any suggestions on the better restaurants in Miami? I mean outside of the typical spots on South beach..no nobu, bond st etc. I am looking for awesome dives, great cuban restaurants...places where the locals go for the bomb southern cuisine!

Wow, as a food writer I couldn't disagree more. I had a HUGE dinner, tried MANY items on the menu and I can say that my meal at AK was one of the WORST I have had in a long time. Most everything we ordered was devoid of any flavor, food arrived cold...I would NEVER come back.

What I meant by ethnic is Ethiopian, Lebanese, Persian, Indian, Armenian...not Japanese or Italian...like really different stuff. I've eaten at that Indian restaurant on Pico and like 26th which is just OK. I am from NYC where we have everything- and most of everything is GREAT.What is the Indian next to the continental shop? What is the name of the Ukranian grocery store?

I Love Giorgio Badi- that's my fav Italian in LA (I'm originally from NYC). Have you tried Mori on Pico for sushi or Sushi Park in West Hollywood- those are great. I think I might try rustic canyon, thanks for the sugg.
