Charlotte - where to buy wine?

Try Arthurs in the basement of Belk at SouthPark. They can usually get you anything if they dont have it in stock.

Bistrot Bruno Loubet, Clerkenwell, London

Was very disappointed. Tried Bistrot for lunch and while it has the potential to be good, the execution in the food is just not there. The dishes our table had ranged from great, to just bad, and most of them lacked proper seasoning. The Pigeon was the only dish that was quite good, interestingly paired with sliced raw cauliflower. Service was truly lacking as well. If you needed something you spent 5 minutes trying to get the attention of the staff, and god forbid asking for the bill. While I'll try it again (always give a place 2 chances!) it looks like this one is simply resting on the past laurels of the chef--who for his sake let’s hope wasn't there.

Where to buy Italian Farro? (or pearled spelt) [London]

There's an italian deli and grocery, Gazzano's on Farringdon Road that carries it, as well as great meats, cheeses, and pastas.

Where to find veal in London

There is a good butcher in St. John's Wood, Kent & Sons (http://www.kents-butchers.co.uk/) they've always had veal in stock when i've been in, and its the 'welfare assured' type. Not quite as friendly and helpful as the Ginger Pig butchers, but good meat nonetheless.

Good burgers in London.

Try The Well on St John Street in Clerkenwell, a good solid burger, and decent chips to boot.

The reason the burgers dont taste the same is corn fed beef vs. grass fed beef.....I think.

Food in Camden Town

There are a few good places you should try.
Mezza Express on Parkway for good lebanese
El Parador on Eversholt Street for excellent Tapas and a great wine list
Teachi on Parkway for Chinese
Chiccos Pizza is ok, definately the best option in the area, but far from incredible.
Indian sadly there are lots of middling ones, but no stand out. I second getting on the 31 and heading to Eriki on Northways Parade/Finchley Road. Let us know if you discover any hidden gems

London - Lebanese Restaurant Recommendation

Oops. Meant Mezza Express, not Mezze Mezze!

GastroPubs

If you're near Exmouth Market, try The Easton, consistently good gastropub on Easton Street.

NYC Hound looking for best cocktails in London

If you're near st john's, down the street a bit is The Larder, they have the best gin selection in london, so any gin based cocktails, thats the place to go.

the clerkenwell kitchen

The food is good, nice to eat outside in the courtyard when it gets a bit warmer, but nothing incredible to make a special trip for. If you're in the area at lunch time stop by, otherwise you're not missing too much, other than the great brownies....

London - Lebanese Restaurant Recommendation

If you've been to Le Mignon, go down the street to Mezze Mezze on Parkway, looks like a takeaway from the front, but they have a dining room in the back and some great Lebanese food. If you're looking to splurge, try Noura. Both the Regent Street and Belgravia locations are good. They even have Mouloukhia on Sundays.

Thislte/Euston quality places to eat?

You're also a short walk from Eversholt Street, just by Mornington Crescent Station. Try El Parador, great tapas, and a good reasonable wine list.

Nineteen Ten: The BEST Burritos in London at the Westfield London!

Try Freebird Burritos in Exmouth Market if you're looking for Carnitas, and Daddy D (Leather Lane) and Benito's Hat (Goodge Street) if you're looking for Chicken and beef. Benito's Hat has great beans as well. There is also Luardo (Whitecross Street Market) who's burritos taste good, but they are very very skimpy with fillings.

Some Singapore/Malaysian Places, London

For Malaysian try Satay House on Sale Place near Paddington. Been a few times and always had a great experience. (www.satay-house.co.uk)

London Street Food

You might want to try Exmouth Market (corner of Roseberry Avenue and Farringdon Road)on a Friday lunch time. The usual suspects: Thai cart (decent curries), Crepe stall, Ghanian (joliot pot, always solid), Italian Sausage stall (good sausage but wont fill you up), Paella stall, Mushroom stall (sandwiches and risotto), Jewish Deli stall, Freebird Burritos (best carnitas in London), A great Veg Indian stall, Brindisa oing the Chorizo & Rocket sandwiches, kofta balls and stuffed aubergine, a bakery stall with great chocolate cake, and a few 'mixed salad' stalls that are passable. During the week you'll get some mix of the above, but its really humming on Fridays, plus there's a great park only a few steps away to enjoy your selection when the weather is nice.

Dunkerque to Paris

Does anyone have any recommendations for lunch in or around Dunkerque? Will be headed toward Paris by car after a channel crossing, so anywhere in that direction would work as well. I'm sure there is some great food in the area, just having trouble finding where to go!

El Parador & Asakusa

Any hounds been to El Parador, a spanish place on Eversholt Street, by Mornington Crescent Tube. Always seems packed, as does the Japanese next door Asakusa. Anyone?

London Cravings

For carnitas burritos try Freebird in Exmouth Market in Clerkenwell. For Chicken or beef try Daddy Donkey in Leather Lane Market, both near Farringdon Tube. The salsas at Daddy Donkey are good, but both of their guacamoles leave much to be desiered. Close as you'll get to a proper Burrito I'm afraid.

As for Mestizo, I have a had quite a few good meals there, again, its good for London, but you have to change how you rate mexican food in the UK.

London Itinerary - please critique ....

FYI, Fryer's Delight (a def. Yes) is on Theobold's Road, near Holborn Station. For Lebanese try Noura (picadilly location's food is a hair better than the others).

Second tier Q places in Carolinas

Bill Spoon's on South Boulevard in Charlotte, and a bit further up the street, a newbie Mac's Speed Shop. Bill Spoon recently passed, but luckily his family is carrying on the goodness.

Searching for Great Hot Chocolate in London

If you're looking for great hot chocolate, or now that its slowly getting warmer, incredible ice cream (usually hard to find in London) is Paul A Young Chocolates. They are in Camden Passage just off Upper Street in Angel. The chocolates aren't too shabby either..

artisan chocolates london

You should try Paul A Young Chocolates. Its very close to Angel Tube in Camden Passage. Very small shop, everything made right there in their little kitchen, with the best chocolate (Valrhona Crus or Amedei.) Fanciful flavours, and brownies that redefine the word. They also do a very nice box, which is now my standard hostess/host gift. Definately worth a try.
