Fancy SF Restaurant with great vegetarian options?
Just a note that Coi is a Michelin 2-star (as of 2010). The only 3 star in the Bay Area is the French Laundry.

Half Moon Bay and Honeymoon Plans
If you want to eat at coi, i would recommend making a reservation as soon as you can.
Café Gratitude - give me a break...
had their carrot cake, which was pretty darn tasty. $10, though!!!
Half Moon Bay and Honeymoon Plans
I'd recommend Cafe Gibralter as well... they have an appetizer that features squid. Try it! I've never had such tender squid like that before.
I would return there...
Sushi Zo Question
when we went in november 2008, it was in excess of 100+. maybe like $125 per person before tax/tip? but i think we ate a LOT, like 20+ pieces each. good luck! it was the best sushi i've ever had.
Help! Need Recommendations for Hubby's Birthday
I also liked Musha for a group. Yummy fusion food (like Japanese & Korean fusion)...they were accomodating when 3 extra people showed up in our group. The waitress was a bit confused as to who ordered what, but overall I'm glad we went!
Disappointing L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon Experience
Hi shivohum, It's too bad you didn't have a good experience at L'Atelier. I think you're probably missing a lot by not being able to eat meat there, though. The $160 for the pasta + truffles dish sounds like the going rate, maybe not reasonable for an everyday meal, but that's about how much I've seen meals with truffles cost, let alone a dish @ L'A. I'm just guessing but their black truffles are probably top notch, too. I had a really good meal at the L'Atelier in Las Vegas, and my dining companions were all really pleased and felt it was money well spent, and...it's the only place I've ever eaten where someone popped in from the casino to ask for a souffle to go. They did not bother to accommodate.
Paulette Macarons in Beverly Hills
Hello, I tried Paulette macarons on Charleville in Beverly Hills last weekend. I haven't had that many macarons in my life but these were really tasty as far as I could tell.
I tried:
colombian coffee
sweet wedding almond
violet cassis
I can't wait to try the rest. Their website is here: http://www.paulettemacarons.com/
9466 Charleville @ S. Beverly
sweet lady jane- incredibly rude!
I got a slice of cake at the gelson's in century city and couldn't see what the fuss was about. It was dry and kind of bland.
Suggestions for a girls' night out?
I used to live in Boston and I do miss Cuchi Cuchi. They have blood orange martinis and mushroom rissotto with truffle oil for under $15. It's so tasty.
FRITTELLI's...Are they as good as they sound?
I concur. I bought an assortment and tried them and they were all too sweet. They are pricey too. Maybe not for the quality of ingredients but for the taste.
Worth trying though, just to see if you'd like them.
Anyplace in L.A. to get unsweetened bubble tea?
There's also a Zen Zoo on S. Beverly in Beverly Hills between Charleville & Gregory, but I'm not sure if they offer that. I've never really thought Zen Zoo was special tho.
Wat Thai ...Mangoes?
had the mangoes + sticky rice a few weeks ago, and it was delish as ever.
Good Breakfast in Beverly Hills...not at a hotel and not $40????
their website says sat. 8am-5pm. closed sundays.

Matzo Ball Soup Challenge
Please do try Nate n Al's. I've tried Barney's Greengrass and found there to be too much STUFF in it. Nate and Al's is simple and perfect esp. with rice! It doesn't even matter that no one seems to want to work there (aside from their cute female cashier with the funky clear glasses & their sweet greeter.)
Try their rugela too! I have no idea how to actually spell that.
Asuka Restaurant (Westwood) - new and improved
Went to Asuka once after some yoga at Yoga Works, and I remember it being decent. (This was maybe in November...) Whoever writes their specials menu must be adorable and very charming!
After reading your review, I can't wait to go again. Thanks for your post.
L.A. to New York City- - -2 much needed rec's please.
i second Veritas. every bite was delicious!
Minneapolis--without kids
112 eatery is great! (i would recommend their bacon & egg sandwich with harissa sauce...sometimes i still get cravings for it.) cafe brenda is another favorite of mine. i haven't lived in minneapolis in over a year, so i'm not familiar with the new restaurants, but i would highly recommend either. la belle vie is wonderful & spendy. it made the top 50 restaurants in the US list in gourmet, but i don't know if that actually means anything. i don't think it should be in the top 50, but it is a top minneapolis restaurant.
cafe zander in st. paul was memorable as well. good luck!
