What are your least favorite Thanksgiving recipes??

oh Yuck. Turnip Fluff. Someone on this thread had a similar Turnip Puff nightmare. mashed turnips, carrot, some orange juice and topped with bread crumbs. It wasn't fluffy either.

Sadly, I am one of those few who love jello salads. I get them only at xmas and Thanksgiving...yum. my step mom makes the one with orange segments and cool whip. I hear people cringing, but it's a fave!

Childhood Memories...

My grandmother made juice out of raspberries and rhubarb. Hardly sweetened and so strong.
Fresh blueberries eaten like cereal in a bowl with milk and sprinkled sugar.
Lik em Stiks.
Grilled cheese sandwiches.

Childhood Memories...

The ones I remember were the same but had little dollops of a jam in them. Raspberry? Can't remember what they were called.

Anyone willing to share their Bean Pie recipe?

This was nothing like I had in mind, but something I think I'll have to try nonetheless.

Anyone willing to share their Bean Pie recipe?

Waaaayyyyy far away from California! But yes, I'm looking for a sweet pie...the one I tried was very delicately flavoured.

Anyone willing to share their Bean Pie recipe?

Yes, the one I had was sweet, pureed beans, similar to some pumpkin pies I've had

Anyone willing to share their Bean Pie recipe?

I attended a fall supper in a small french community in Manitoba last year and was intrigued by the bean pie offered as one of the many delightful pie options. I have always, always made pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving but would love to try bean pie! If I'm going to test it out on family, I don't want to test something willy-nilly from online....any favorites you're willing to reveal?

Instead of straight sugar in pumpkin pie

I have tried substituting in some buckwheat honey, much to my sister's dismay! But my dad and I really enjoyed it. Buckwheat makes for a really strong flavour...an acquired taste?

what to do with a quart of buttermilk?

I make pull-apart yeast buns where you roll out the dough, spread with butter then cut into strips, stack and then cut into 2-inch pieces and put in muffin tins. The recipe name is "buttermilk fantans".
