Rouge Tomate for a private party?
I am considering Rouge Tomate for a private party (~30 people). This is a cocktail party with open bar and passed plates, not a sit down dinner. Has anybody hosted or attended a private party there? I would like feedback on your experience.

Venue in Manhattan for 50th birthday - passed plates and cocktails at ~150 per person (attending ~30)
I am looking for a venue for a 50th birthday party. The list below is a mix of places that were recommended and restaurants (Eleven Madison, A Voce, Little Owl) where I have enjoyed great meals. I would like passed plates and great cocktails/wine for ~30 people. This is not a sit down dinner.
I want a place with great service and food minus any attitude. I want casual where everybody can feel comfortable. I know that Eleven Madison and A Voce are in a different price category. Any feedback positive or negative on below list is greatly appreciated. Any additions to list are also welcomed. Budget is roughly 6K . Thank you.

Bar crawl in San Francisco - need suggestions
I need suggestions for bars serving excellent cocktails in San Francisco. Places along the lines of Comstock Saloon, Absinthe, Rickhouse, etc.
Any area of town is fine. Though, we would like to start in Embarcadero and move on from there.
Suggestions? A dive with a fantastic cocktail is perfect too.

A New Yorker would never ask for a "slice of plain" - you have that right. However, a New Yorker would never order a "slice of cheese". They would ask for "a slice" period.
One night in Portland - where to eat
I would like a recommendation for dinner In Portland. Price is no issue. I don't want a stuffy, fancy place but I do want what you consider the best place in Portland. Any type of food is fine. We are staying at The Nines so anything within walking distance is a plus though not a requirement. I realize this is very wide open and I will look at other posts for information. Any help is appreciated.

Thank you so much for the reply. Did you enjoy any cocktails too? It sounds great. We've had a Daniel Humm meal when he was a chef in San Francisco. It was fantastic so I have been wanting to check out Eleven Madison Park for years since he departed SF.

Low key dinner ideas in Boston
I am looking for some recommendations for a low key dinner in Boston. I would like a good neighborhood place in moderate price range with some excellent cocktails. (~25.00 entree range)
We will visit Clio one evening so I want to avoid fancy for this particular recommendation. Travel is not an issue - we will cab it to the right place from Omni Parkerhouse. Italian would be terrific but any suggestions are greatly appeciated.
