Help! Need fabulous lunch recommendation in paris this afternoon

Hello - we are leaving Beaune for Paris today before taking a plane to Italy at 5.

We hope to have lunch in a fabulous restaurant sharply at noon - right now, we are set to drive to the champs elysee and walk around before lunch, but a good lunch recommendation is fine - we can switch our plans.

We are open - prefer michelin and fab cuisine.

As I will be driving, a recommendation copied to email would be so appreciated. You can use expert@deg.com

Thanks so much

Looking for fun restaurant suggestions in Verona, Italy

Will be in Verona for VinExpo (a wine trade fair) and hear many top restaurants are sold out ... yet looking for FUN restaurants, especially for people watching.

Any/all suggestions much appreciated. Thanks!

Sunday lunch (today) in Paris

Need to be at the airport at 2:30 so an 11:30/12 start is great.

I will look into Le Cinq at four seasons yet I believe the start too late at 12:30

will also look into start time of Le Meurice.

Our luggage may present a problem for some non hotel restaurants ...

However we are staying at Le Grand Hotel so something nearby might be an option as we can leave luggage here ...

Dinner alone in paris tonight

my friend is late coming in and i am staying at the grand hotel i know there are fun cafes near there but wld love an elegant formal place

A lunch reservation is also appreciated

Fine Paris Restaurants for weekend lunch and dinner

thanks

Fine Paris Restaurants for weekend lunch and dinner

We will be spending two consecutive restaurants in Paris and need recommendations for four fine (michelin rated) lunches on weekends (important to note it is a weekend) and four dinners.

They do not all have to be michelin -- a good scene is fun too. We liked Avenue yet it was a bit busy ...

Thanks in advance! Off to Europe tomorrow, will check the board1

Hostess gift for winery owners/negotiants

I have been invited to dinner by a negociant in France and will also be staying as a guest in different chateaux.

Can anyone suggest a small, packable non-wine gift? Thanks in advance!

Marcus Waring substitute [London]

Thanks! I will look into this.

Fine Dining & FUN London restaurants this Sunday/Monday Feb 28/March1

Sorry! "lively" "people watching" "energy"

It is very difficult to find very innovative, 'celebrity chef' cuisine and a fun scene. Perhaps the reason we eat at Nobu all the time in London, because formal restaurants with fabulous food are boring, and "lively" restaurants with a scene are uncomfortable and the food isn't the point.

In Manhattan, Cafe Boulud (Daniel Boulud) could be a good example if the clientele was a bit younger and more exciting. Still, there is always a "buzz"

I like Wolseley but go there too often as well. Someone suggested the sushi bar Roka (sp?)

It's been Nobu Nobu Nobu every single (frequent) visit to London because nothing else "fun" is happening on these nights.

Recommendations would be so appreciated!

Good Instructor, Bad Instructor: what makes a wine class great?

Great response, thank you all!

Best coffeemaker?

... no longer interested in going to starbucks early a.m. in the snow.

Can someone recommend a coffeemaker that looks very stylish (and black) and makes good (and easy) coffee?

Thanks in advance!

Good Instructor, Bad Instructor: what makes a wine class great?

I'm writing an article on elements that make for really great (single) wine classes (of the non-date oriented variety), where beginners or advanced students can really gain great knowledge.

If you have things you enjoyed or could barely tolerate in a class, would love to hear it.

Special and/or fun Birthday Dining in Manhattan

I'm looking to find a chef's table in a high end kitchen or a super fun (wild?) and lively people watching sushi place.

I know they sound very far apart, but a good recommendation one way or the other would be very appreciated! Thanks in advance.
