I have two brother-in-laws like that. They're both otherwise great guys, but how my sisters put up with it I'll never know. I refuse to go out to eat with them.

Just went last night and had a great time. The food was solid and you can't beat having a couple of drinks while watching a movie.

I once ate a meal where one person buttered their roll all at once while another used the wrong fork for salad. The chaos that ensued was frightening. I'm lucky I survived.

My version of this site would have about 20 people on it. There would be a lot of blank spaces.

Actually just had a pizza arrive 19 minutes after ordering. They usually arrive in 25 minutes or so. I don't have a car, so it would take more time for me to walk home with the pizza than it takes for the delivery to get here.

No. If they give you change they are doing you a favor. By giving you a glass of water they are performing a task that is part of their job. It is customary to tip a bartender for performing that job.

Sorry, I took it to mean you were referring to many European countries where tipping isn't customary.

That's silly. We're talking about getting something to drink at the bar, not what your waitress brought you. I would tip more for a mixed drink than I would a beer because of the work involved.

Clearly, if tipping was not a custom where one lives, they wouldn't even be involved in this conversation.

Of course they wouldn't be offended. If you tip just as to not offend, that's your business. You would be tipping for the work, not the cost of the water, so the fact that its free should have no bearing.

I was there about a month ago and requested no beets. They switched apple for the beets. I had the beef and it was amazing. There was nothing I disliked and was wowed by a lot of the dishes.

Yes about the progression. Also, what if one chef barely beat out the other on three dishes, but was blown away by the other chef on two dishes? Which is the meal you would rather eat? The more I think about it, the more I dislike this format.

Also, while I have no problem with Kristen winning (she seems to be extremely talented and focused) I also seriously dislike LCK and save a chef.

I've never gone around that time, but they only take reservations for parties of six or more. So, it's not like they're fully booked.

My wife and I have gone with our three year old a few times. The food is very good and the kids menu isn't dumbed down.

I may be a sucker for a beautiful woman, but I find Padma quite likeable as well. Then again, maybe I'm not such a sucker. Kristen is also quite attractive, but I'm not a huge fan of hers.

Also, here's a crazy thought, but maybe she's not all that impressed with Kristen's food/style of cooking. No, that can't be it. It has to be the jealousy thing.
