Another family style Italian restaurant is Patsy's. While their menu sticks to basic Italian cuisine, it's always a reliable option. Their prices are also very reasonable. They have several locations around the city.

I agree on the Sfoglia reco. Their bread is so good that it's almost a good enough reason to eat at the restaurant. I ate there recently and loved the pappardelle alla bolognese and a fish dish as well. Pictures of both can be found a the link below...

Ali Baba is on 34th btwn 2nd and 3rd and I agree that it's much better than Turkish Kitchen.
