Koka Booth Amphitheater

Well lets see, I had to pay $8.25 for each ticket as a "ticket fee" (on top of the ticket price itself), and a $2.50 "processing fee" for the privilege of purchasing the tickets, and $7 per 16 oz beer. Why shouldn't I be able to bring in a sandwich or snack? I think they made out pretty well without having to get another $10 for a crappy sandwich.

Koka Booth Amphitheater

We are going to the Willie Nelson concert on Saturday night. Despite living 2 mins from Koka Booth we've never been to a concert there.

I am wondering how strict they are about searching purses or back packs to make sure you didn't bring in a sandwich or some snacks.

Seafood and/or Cajun themed Food Truck a good idea in Raleigh area?

Yes I'm leaning towards food like you get in New Orleans. I would skip the pulled pork and go with a muffuletta sandwich instead. Of course red beans and rice, hush puppies too.

Thanks - I will check out the truck at the flea market (I go almost weekly).

Good feedback on the food type. I think something like mussels might be hard to eat and phew where to throw away the trash.

Thanks!!!

Seafood and/or Cajun themed Food Truck a good idea in Raleigh area?

Hi all,

I have long considered taking a shot at starting a food truck business. The food I love to cook, and cook best, is seafood. I make an awesome gumbo!
I was wondering if you think a seafood themed food truck could be successful in the Raleigh area.

Things I might serve: Gumbo (Shrimp/Chx/Andouille), Shrimp po'boys, Lobster rolls, NE Clam Chowder, fish taco's, mussels in white wine sauce, etc...

Any thoughts, feedback, etc... would be appreciated.

Bella Mia in Cary Being Sold

I recently tried Johnny's Pizza in Apex and I think it's one of the best pizza places in the area. I like the crust. It's thin and crispy not dry as toast like some thin crusts. I went to Mamma Mia in Apex a couple years ago and it was also excellent.

Raleigh food trucks!

Where are some of the regular places that Food Trucks park? I don't see many around. Especially not in the Cary area.

Raleigh Triangle - Your Favorite Salsa

I would agree with this post. Several varieties to choose from and it's fresh. And by fresh I don't just mean tasty but will spoil within a week or so, so plan accordingly.

Boone/W. Jefferson must eat or must do (Oct 14-19th)

From what I read online they are remodeling and changing the name. But it sounds very promising for a nice night out.

reasonably priced anniversary meal (Cary/Apex/Raleigh)

If you like sushi Sono in downtown Raleigh is excellent. I didn't even use soy or wasabi because the rolls were so great.

Boone/W. Jefferson must eat or must do (Oct 14-19th)

Hi all,

The wife and I will be up in W. Jefferson for a nice getaway Oct 14th-19th. While we enjoy cooking in the rental cabin we would like to know if there are some great places to eat in the area (including near Boone). We are not looking for anything upscale as she works in an upscale steakhouse in Raleigh. Just some good local pub food, Mexican, or maybe even Chinese food. Any recommendations?

Also, are there any good events going on that week or fun things to do? Hiking gets a bit old after a while ;-)

Thanks in advance!

Super Wok in Cary NC: How I love thee

Have eaten at Super Wok twice now. The first time we had the Lotus Root with Pork Belly, Dan Dan Noodles, Pork Dumplings, and some Noodles (thin but forgot name). I was very impressed. The second time, we got the Crab Rangoon, Egg Drop Soup, Black Pepper Beef and a spicy Sichean beef dish (forgot the name again). This is by far the best Chinese food I have had in a long time. Authentic and tasty. Now I am getting the craving again....

Looking for Great Pizza in Fuquay-Holly Springs-Apex

We had a plain cheese pizza at Mamma Mia's in Apex off Laura Duncan Rd. last night. Definately the best pizza I have had in NC so far (1 year 5 months). We also had Bruschetta (special order item). Cant wait to try some of the other dishes. Very fresh, not greasy, and almost as good a crust as NYC pizza. For the best crust you HAVE to use tap water from NYC. Been proven to have something in the mineral content that just works perfectly. We will go back. The staff were extremely friendly Italians from NJ.
