Chicken Parm Sub Finished in an Oven

Nino's Pizza on Charles Street in Beacon Hill does this and I totally agree that it makes the chicken parm just right!

Oak room WOW

I went there for my birthday this past year and had a really wonderful time. The service really is the best in the city. I loved the chateaubriand (sp?) and their grilled asparagus. Still dreaming about that meal...

Cooking Classes For Seasoned Home Cooks-Worth The Expense?

I've taken a few cooking classes with my fiance and we are both avid home cooks. We tend to choose classes to cook certain ethnic foods that we aren't familiar with, which keeps it interesting since we are usually something totally new.

How to eat fresh tomatoes?

My fiance (from MA) eats it with salt...and I (also from MA) eat it with sugar. I think its just a personal preference!

$30 pine nuts

I'm not sure but I have recently switched to using walnuts for pesto for this very reason!

Nice dinner w/good wine for $150-ish?

I'd have to second the Erbaluce recommendation. They have a wonderful wine list and their wild boar and sea bass dishes particularly sand out to me.

Attire at Bergamot--teen wants to dress up--by the way, how was your dinner?

I just dined at Bergamot on Friday and had a really wonderful experience. The attire was really mixed with people in jeans, business casual and summer sundresses. I really think your daughter will be fine in her dress.

In terms of the food, I really enjoyed their proscuitto plate, along with their fried clams. My seared scallops were delish but my D.C.'s duck breast was a tad salty. Dessert is a must and I highly recommend the chocolate pave!

Hope you enjoy your meal!

What to do with jar of fig jam?

I'd have to agree that I serve fig jam with warm brie and also with some smoky hard cheese (like gouda) and crackers. It is always a big hit!

Pretzel M&M's

I found the pretzels too be a bit too salty for my taste but I'm not a big salt person.

Favorite Food Smells?

I'd have to second the garlic. Roasted garlic is one of my favorite scents.

After that I'd have to head to fall and baking anything pumpkin - bread, pies, etc.

New Restaurant for Wife's Bday - I hate little plates

I'd have to second the Erbaluce recommendation. I love the food there and it has a great romantic vibe.

Going to L'Espalier for dinner this Sunday (what to order)...Where to go Monday lunch??

Some of my favorite dishes from L'Espalier are veal sweetbreads with whole wheat waffle with pomegranate seeds, the roasted venison with escargot and satsuma, and the Thai creme brulee with guava raspberry sorbet and mango, grapefruit and blood orange.

Lobster Roll

Oh and here's a photo of the lobster roll from B&G!

Lobster Roll

I finally tried out B&G's famous lobster roll this weekend and it lived up to its reputation. The lobster roll was chock full of great lobster meat and lightly tossed in mayo with herbs. The roll was fantastic but for me, the highlight were the cole slaw and house pickles. Delish.

Where to go for an engagement dinner?

I'd have to agreet with MP. I do love L'Espalier and No. 9 Park, but my most memorable meal to date has been at O Ya. I went there this past year for our anniversary dinner and am still dreaming about it since.

Fun Engagement dinner in Boston

I've had great dates with other couples at Myers & Chang. I always think small plates are a great way to go to share the dining experience, prices are moderate and the drinks are great too. Plus, they do take reservations.

Romantic Meal for New Parents?

I'm a big fan of Ten Tables, especially the Cambridge location for its dim lighting and intimate setting. The food is great and the restaurant is wonderful about being accommodating for any special occasion.

Clover Food Truck in Dewey Square (South Station)

I went there a few weeks ago for the first time and absolutely loved the Soy BLT. I'm a meat-eater but I still found the tempeh bacon to be a good substitute. I've heard awesome things about the egg and egg sandwich, which is going to be my next order!

A Final Celebratory Meal in Boston - with Caveats...Help

Some suggestions at the top of my head are Hamersley's Bistro, Erbaluce, or Petit Robert?

Friendly Toast Revisited

They do have the NH's Finest Scramble in Kendall Square (it is one of my favorite dishes). i went there yesterday for lunch and the service is slow but the food is good enough to keep me coming back (especially with its proximity to the movie theater).

Private party

For a focus on cocktails, I'd also think about having a private party at Silvertone's in the back room/bar.

Help with Wedding Rehearsal Dinner in Boston

Is BBQ too informal? Redbones might be a fun place to a get a group together although I'm not sure how they deal with private parties.

O Ya vegetarian options / Omakase question

Also, for vegetarian dishes, I really enjoyed the roasted beet sashimi and grilled sashimi of chantrelle and shiitake mushrooms.

Hummus - How or what do you serve or eat with it?

I generally eat it as a spread in a veggie or falafel sandwich, or as a dip with veggies or pita chips. i recently discovered falafel chips and I am definitely going to give that a try with some hummus!

O Ya vegetarian options / Omakase question

They do have a few vegetarian options but my suggestion would be to call ahead and see if they will make some off-menu items that are veggie-friendly. Also, I did my research ahead of time and just chose different items I'd like to try (or were highly recommended) instead of doing the omakase. It was still pricey but from what I understand, the omakase is not traditional at O Ya and the server will just pick items off the menu for you to try.

Since Locke-Ober no longer does lunch...need a substitute

My go-to business lunch spot is Ruth's Chris or Mooo.

Unbelieveable Brunch at Russell House Tavern

I finally got a chance to check out RHT last night and I think it was love at first sight with the crispy poached egg. The pizzas were okay but I did really like the chacuterie plate. I also was impressed with their beer selection, especially the Pretty Things choices!

Foodie things to do in Boston?

If you're in Chinatown, I'd pick up a banh mi sandwich at 163 or New Saigon Shop. These are super tasty and cheap Vietnamese sandwiches that I always enjoy!

Bachelor party dinner

I've been to a large graduation party at Burtons Grill, which is right around the corner from Fenway. They have a wide variety of food with a focus on steaks and seafood and I believe their prices will fit your range.
