La Catena in Ardsley: Any feedback yet?
It was wonderful from start to finish. We went with another couple and had drinks at the small bar area first. Young friendly female bartender who made a delicious La Catena martini. We had a 7pm ressie and stayed at the bar area until 7:30. We let them know when we wanted to sit.
We shared 4 apps (we were starving) buffalo mozzarella, fried calamari, clams casino and a special diced avacado & hearts of palm salad. The clams were the standout. All dishes were fresh and plentiful. We def ordered too many.
For dinner I had the pork chops with vinegar peppers with paper thin slices of roasted potato all in this heavenly sauce. 2 had a seafood dish with pasta and 1 had the seabass. The seabass dish was HUGE. Actually all the dinners were huge and I took half of my home as they gave 2 thick chops. My pork dish was the best pork I have ever had in a restaurant. They asked how I wanted the pork cooked and it was thick and juicy.
Dessert my husband and I shared the italian cheesecake.
4 apps
4 entrees
2 desserts
2 coffees
several cocktails each (cocktails were so reasonable)
total was $360 for 4
We will go back for sure. Service was great and very very friendly. They also have a private party room which is great to know.

Bridal shower brunch in lower westchester
had my daughter's shower at X2O this past August and I can't begin to explain how amazing it was.
Kuddos to X2O...................
My daughter's Bridal Shower was scheduled for yesterday (Sunday). I was ignoring the weather hoping it would go away. By Thursday morning I was frantic. I called James the GM of X2O and he told me that I had 2 options. I could keep it for sunday and they would charge me for who showed up or I would have to cancel as they were now booked until December for the private room for Sunday brunch. I was crushed as there was no way I was having it on Sunday.
He then mentioned that there was a possibilty they would hold it on Saturday (the day before) and he needed to ok that with the Chef and the powers that be.
He called me an hour later and said YES they would do the same Sunday brunch on Saturday. I was so happy. We quickly called everyone invited. We had 50 invited and 36 were able to come.
I can't praise the staff enough. The shower was incredible. The level of service was amazing and I mean amazing. The room looked so beautiful. The food was just delicious. They catered to our every need. Not one glass of whatever people were drinking ever went empty. We were not rushed out and we were there from 11:30-4pm and the champagne flowed the whole time. They also packed up all the gifts and brought them all to my daughter's car.
Seriously, it's the best deal in town for a private party. It was just wonderful.

Scalini Osteria in Bronxville
Is that the place that used to be Scarbourgh Fair? If so the courtyard is small but really cozy and romantic.
Benjamin Steakhouse-White Plains
agreeing or disagreeing is not a problem for me LOL.
Benjamin Steakhouse-White Plains
Forgot to add that we also have 2 apps. I thought it was worth every penny. I hope we have the same experience the next time that we go
Benjamin Steakhouse-White Plains
wow. We had the best experience. The service was amazing. When we go again I hope it;s the same!
Benjamin Steakhouse-White Plains
We had an AMAZING meal last night at Benjamin Steakhouse. There is not one thing that I can complain about. Well, except for the man a table over that was blowing his nose in his dinner napkin (seriously that is so disgusting-go to the bathroom and spare the rest of us).
We sat at the bar and had a cocktail. I had a perfectly made french martini and my husband had a vodka tonic. There were homemade potato chips at the bar and we had a nice conversation with the bartender who was so personable. We paid for our 2 drinks ($30) and I asked to sit at a side table as I hate to be in the middle.
My husband and I shared 2 pieces of the bacon app and the 6 piece shrimp cocktail. I love the way they split whatever you are sharing tableside. We were going to order 3 pieces of bacon and the waiter let us know how big the pieces are so we are glad he let us know and we really could have shared 1 along with the 6 shrimp. Bacon was more like ham steak strips then bacon. The shrimp were huge and delicious. I hate water soggy shrimp with a passion and these were top notch.
Hubby ordered the porterhouse (was not on menu but we saw others getting it and asked) and he ordered the steak fries which were handcut and fresh. I had the filet which was HUGE and a baked potato. Our steaks were cooked perfected through and through and the filet really was the best filet I have ever had.
We skipped dessert. Bill for our dinner, 2 more cocktails, 2 ice teas was $175.xx
I can't wait to go back!
Have other people had the same experience?
Restaurant X PSA--Special This Thursday through Sunday
We also took some home for our lucky dog!
Service was excellent.

Thanks for letting us know Marge!
Restaurant X PSA--Special This Thursday through Sunday
We went last night for this special. Had a lovely table down below by the windows. We had the cowboy special for 2. The creamed spinach and potatoes au gratin were delicious. Other might have thought the potatoes on the salty side but I love salt and thought they were perfect. We also had an order of pomme frites, they were wonderful. The steak I did not like at all. It was very very fatty. We ordered med rare and only the 2 slices they put on each of our plates were med rare the rest on the platter were just about well done. I would not get that again. We were given the choice of red or white wine and we both got the white as we do not enjoy red. I am not a big wine drinker and I enjoyed whatever it was. We were given a choice for dessert of the creme brulee or a chocolate dessert.
Total was $111.xx for the dinner for 2, the pomme frites, a vodka tonic and a glass of prosecco.

The Former Woody's on Main in Mt Kisco
We had a great dinner last night at Village Social. We had French Martinis and they were great.
I had Sunny Side Up Egg Prosciutto \ Truffles \ Tomatoes \ FontIna pizza. Was delicious!
JB's BBQ Brewster Is Out Of Bizzness
I will never go back to Holy Smokes. The place was filthy. We sat by a window and there were ants crawling all over the window sill and wall.
New Restaurant in Yorktown.....
Went for lunch today. Not impressed. Probably won't go back.
fried calamari was ok
rice balls were not good and totally flavorless. One rice ball had cheese in the middle and one didn't. No peas to be found.
I had a pizza:
Arugula e Parmigiano Smoked mozzarella, prosciutto di Parma, fresh arugula & shavings of grana)
It was ok. Nice fresh arugula but the pizza was dry as a bone and I had to ask for olive oil and balsamic vinegar so that it was more pleasing to eat.
One daughter had the gnocchi. I didn't try it but she said she liked it. Other daughter asked if the carbonara was red or white as I told her it was a white sauce and she didn't believe me. Waitress stated it was red so I shrugged my shoulders. Out came her dish in the white sauce that it should have been. Server apologized and daughter asked for angel hair pasta with bolognese sauce and was told they ran out of angel hair after making the carbonara dish.
I guess they found some as her new order came out with angel hair pasta. Hardly any meat in the sauce.
We did indulge in a martini but we had to wait 15m until someone came to the restaurant to make it.
Not sure I will be back.
New Restaurant in Yorktown.....
Has anyone been or even hear of this new restaurant. I am assuming it's located where the Heights restaurant was?

thanks for the suggestion. Red Velvet is my daughters favorite!
X2O Brunch for Bridal Shower
I really think it is a great deal. I priced catering at my home and it's not worth the aggrivation. X2O in the summer must be beautiful. We usually wind up going in the winter.

X2O Brunch for Bridal Shower
I just booked the shower with X2O. You have to guarantee 30 people and you get the upstairs to yourselves. They provide flowers on the tables and set up a gift table etc.
Same brunch price but you lose the passed dishes. I am going to see them next month and will ask about that in person. I don't know why they can't provide an assortment of the passed apps on each table as guests come in since we are paying the same price as the people downstairs and I am having 45 people.
I am really excited! Oh and they will do a cake at no extra chage in place of the plated desserts. I like the plated desserts better and my daughter doesn't even like cake

X2O Brunch for Bridal Shower
I am considering booking my daughter's bridal shower at X2O for their Sunday brunch. I am not even sure if they will do that? We will be about 45 people.
Has anyone been to or have seen a shower there?
Menu states unlimited champagne, would that include mimosas or would they charge for the juice. I am also a little confused about the brunch menu. Says in addition to a few passed dishes it includes 2 savory and 1 dessert. Would that mean pick 1 app and 1 entree from the list that is posted?
Thanks for any info you can give. I have been several times for dinner and it's my favorite restaurant.

WOW LindaWhit. You are really good at this!
What's For Dinner? Part LXI
My dad :) He makes them from start to finish and uses a wooden spoon to stir that his mom used to use. The kids look forward to seeing that spoon each year. We think it makes the latkes taste better ;)
What's For Dinner? Part LXII / Part 62
I love my PJs and I love to eat in my PJs. LOL
Not sure what we are having. My parents usually come for Sunday dinner each week but since we saw them yesterday for our Chanukah party they will not be coming over.
I did buy some flat iron steaks the other day so I think we will have those with big fat baked potatoes and some roasted aparagus.
What's For Dinner? Part LXI
We had our Chanukah and the main star was latkes-lots of latkes!
