Bocadillos NM

I saw this place as a feature on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives. I was intrigued and although it isn't quite on my way - anywhere- I decided to give it a test run today.

The pics don't do justice. Amazing sandwiches! The corned beef on the Reuben rivals Katz's deli in NYC. And my TaN - WOW. Turkey, juicy roasted like you only wished your Thanksgiving turkey tasted and topped with cheese all ooey gooey melted and a Green Chile apple chutney that would bring grown men to their knees., oh my! Lots of perfectly ripe avocado, lettuce and tomato.

It takes a bit to find this place but once you do, you won't need a GPS to get here! On Indian School NW - just west of 12th Street where Menaul extension ends at the round about. Next to Lottaburger and Allsup.

Good New Mexican food in Taos and Santa Fe areas.

Michales kitchen is ok for breakfast, but nothing inspired. Just diner kind of food and often way too busy. Haven't had lunch or dinner there in long time. I don't know the others you mentioned.

5 great dinners in Santa Fe!

There are some great new places to try and yes, a google search will show the old ones are still around.

Do a search on here, or scroll back a bit for recent threads.

Restaurant Martin; 315 Restaurant and Wine Bar; Bouche; Terra; La Boca; Taberna to name a few.

As for accommodations - the mods here don't like to venture off food. Try Fodors.com or tripadvisor.com

Mykonos Cafe and Taverna [Albuquerque]

I just looked at their website before posting this! It didn't have that notice.

I asked Gil on his blog and heard from Gil -

Mykonos Cafe and Taverna [Albuquerque]

I hadn't been for a while. Took a friend their for dinner a few weeks back. Only half the place had tables and chairs. The menu was a fraction of what the old one was - really basic items. And they charged for pita and oil ! i asked the waiter if it was new ownership; he said they were remodeling and had a limited menu during reno. The food wasn't nearly as good. In looking at their website, I also see they aren't doing lunch.

Anyone have an inside info? I looked on Gil's blog and he doesn't have anything on them, at all.

Your Favorite NM Chocolate and Wine Producers?

In October, we were driving around looking at foliage. We had seen the signs for Ponderosa Winery many times on Rt 4 and had never given it much thought. We went over and had a nice tasting, with good pours. We liked the Jemez Red a lot. Bought a bottle for $17 or 18 and headed home.

We have since bought 3 more bottles at Costco for $15 and sadly, WalMart for $11! It isn't nearly as complex as a Pinot Noir [I love La Crema] but it is flavorful and smooth.

Cortez is NOT a day trip [we have a second home up there]. Sutcliff is nice. Pair it with Mesa Verde and a nice dinner and you have a nice little jaunt.

New Years Eve in Sedona

We are heading over from NM for a couple of nights. We are staying at Amara Resort and Spa. Looking for a really nice restaurant for dinner on NYE. We aren't looking for a place with late seating; we would most likely prefer to eat around 7 pm or so. Any cuisine is ok, although we are least likely to want Mexican. Also, we will need dinner the night before as well, so suggestions are welcome for that night too.
Thanks~

Deli Food: Albuquerque, New Mexico

Alas, deli here is a rare bird indeed. As a native NYer, I miss deli and all it encompasses. There was a place in Rio Rancho for awhile, a branch of main location in the Q, but both are gone. Gil likes this place; may be worth checking out:

Santa Fe Restaurants, Dish by Dish

I was served menudo by mistake at Garcia's in ABQ. I had ordered posole. I had taken a few spoonfuls when the waitress ran over and grabbed the bowl and said sorry. She returned with the posole. When I asked what it was and she told me, I then knew what those little icky chunks were and knew I would NEVER eat it again. Blech! My husband and I latter laughed and thought that the waitress had a good story to tell her family that night at dinner about the poor blonde, green eyed gringa that she served menudo to by mistake that day. :)

Not sure when you were last at Tesuque Market last but we found that the quality of prepared food was not up to snuff last time we were there. Hopefully, you have been there more recently and it's improved.

Coming in this weekend. My wife's first time ever in NOLA.

Does anyone have any input on Brigtsen’s?? I had searched a while ago and didn't see much on it, but now there are a few posts. We loved roast duck!

Also, would it be crazy to try and get to Boucherie from FQ via Street Car and Bus? Norta says its 53 minutes.

Thanks~

Cafe Vingt Cinq Moving to ABQ

Doing the happy dance here! We happened upon the cafe a while back and yes, that location really made for a tough go of it. I am glad the persevered and are heading here!

Reminds me of the move of Torino's from their strange location down here a few years back. Glad for that one, happy for this one as well.

If you tire of NM fare [not likely, but it could happen] Andiamo! has reasonably price Italian.

Chocolate Maven is a breakfast or lunch spot that we have liked in the past.
