Grenoble help

Answering my own question - we had a good dinner here
http://laboccafelice.com
A lovely waitress and an overall enjoyable evening. We did the menu de la moment. All was good except my husband's main - a pasta dish was a miss, bland and boring.

Our second dinner was excellent at -

http://www.la-petite-idee.fr

We walked in as they opened at 7 and was told they were full. There was only a table of 2 occupied (fairly small place) and the waiter explained that there were many reservations at 8. He then said if we could be done by then, we could have a table now. Deal!
Great meal, we again did the formula and had lovely starter, excellent main of lamb chops and great desserts, my husband's chocolate cake being killer!

Our third night, we would have done either Le Bombay or La Fotune du Pot ( which was our first choice on second night, but it was full per the desk clerk at hotel who called for us),

Looking for Thanksgiving dinner/buffet recommendations near Albuquerque

Try Hyatt Tamaya just outside of ABQ. It is a beautiful location and their food is always top notch. They have a few different restaurants, so see which best meets your needs.

Grenoble help

We will be in Grenoble this weekend and are looking for recommendations. Search here finds almost no comments. One old one recommends Les Mille Saveurs, but a search online finds only a few dated comments, the last saying that it was closed for renovations, dated July 2013.

I have found 2 that look promising - Le Bombay and Chez Mme Paulette. Any input?

Looking for mains in the 25€ range for dinner. Nothing fancy, quality over looks. Most types of food ok, we are in France for quite some time, so it doesn't have to be Provençal.

Thanks.

D'Amelio's Off the Boat or ????

So, I ended up doing 2 dinners. First was a D'Amelio's. I had:
Seafood Alexia- $24.95
Shrimp, scallops, and lobster meat in a white wine garlic cream sauce wth fussili pasta

My dinner companion had arugula salad and crab cakes.

Mine had 3 shrimps and the rest was microscopic bits of some type of fish/seafood. Sauce was just ok. Friend said her's was ok.

Second dinner was at Ecco and was much better. I had: Pan Seared Salmon
zucchini, eggplant, tomatoes, carrots & onions ratatouille
$22

It was excellent. I had just spent a week in Newfoundland and this was the best fish I had all week.

We did walk from Hyatt to D'Amelio's. It was an ok walk; lots of people in the park. Got a bit turned around where Porter crosses entrance to Sumner. We had them call a livery for us to get back. Cost $8.

D'Amelio's Off the Boat or ????

Thanks for all the replies.

I may not have a ride, per se. The Hyatt will take me to the Blue Line T stop at Logan. Can I safely walk to D'Amelio's?

Looks like from the T stop, I can walk to Bremen Street Park [a safe way to cross 1A??] and then walk Bremen to Porter.

Am I crazy to attempt this walk??

D'Amelio's Off the Boat or ????

That looks great for Italian. I was hoping to either have some seafood/fish options. I will keep it on short list.

D'Amelio's Off the Boat or ????

Will be at airport overnight next week. Need an easy to reach place that has great food - Italian and or seafood.

I have seen good write ups elsewhere, but almost nothing here, on D'Amelio's Off the Boat.

Is it a tourist spot or "groupon offering" type of place that was great but is struggling now?

Although I now live far away, I lived on North Shore long ago and I am a native NYer who knows good Italian and seafood.

IF not here, where? Thanks. Entree price $25 -35 would work. For a Thursday night.

I have someone picking me up at Hyatt Boston Harbor, but don't want them to have to drive out a ways and then drive me back to hotel and then have them head home.

ABQ c-hounds,, need your help picking one of the following restaurants for a dinner meeting

We had a lovely dinner at Los Poblanos in the North Valley. Don't know if that's too far out of the loop. Lovely grounds, pretty building and good food.

Bocadillos NM

I saw this place as a feature on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives. I was intrigued and although it isn't quite on my way - anywhere- I decided to give it a test run today.

The pics don't do justice. Amazing sandwiches! The corned beef on the Reuben rivals Katz's deli in NYC. And my TaN - WOW. Turkey, juicy roasted like you only wished your Thanksgiving turkey tasted and topped with cheese all ooey gooey melted and a Green Chile apple chutney that would bring grown men to their knees., oh my! Lots of perfectly ripe avocado, lettuce and tomato.

It takes a bit to find this place but once you do, you won't need a GPS to get here! On Indian School NW - just west of 12th Street where Menaul extension ends at the round about. Next to Lottaburger and Allsup.

Good New Mexican food in Taos and Santa Fe areas.

Michales kitchen is ok for breakfast, but nothing inspired. Just diner kind of food and often way too busy. Haven't had lunch or dinner there in long time. I don't know the others you mentioned.

5 great dinners in Santa Fe!

There are some great new places to try and yes, a google search will show the old ones are still around.

Do a search on here, or scroll back a bit for recent threads.

Restaurant Martin; 315 Restaurant and Wine Bar; Bouche; Terra; La Boca; Taberna to name a few.

As for accommodations - the mods here don't like to venture off food. Try Fodors.com or tripadvisor.com

Mykonos Cafe and Taverna [Albuquerque]

I hadn't been for a while. Took a friend their for dinner a few weeks back. Only half the place had tables and chairs. The menu was a fraction of what the old one was - really basic items. And they charged for pita and oil ! i asked the waiter if it was new ownership; he said they were remodeling and had a limited menu during reno. The food wasn't nearly as good. In looking at their website, I also see they aren't doing lunch.

Anyone have an inside info? I looked on Gil's blog and he doesn't have anything on them, at all.

Your Favorite NM Chocolate and Wine Producers?

In October, we were driving around looking at foliage. We had seen the signs for Ponderosa Winery many times on Rt 4 and had never given it much thought. We went over and had a nice tasting, with good pours. We liked the Jemez Red a lot. Bought a bottle for $17 or 18 and headed home.

We have since bought 3 more bottles at Costco for $15 and sadly, WalMart for $11! It isn't nearly as complex as a Pinot Noir [I love La Crema] but it is flavorful and smooth.

Cortez is NOT a day trip [we have a second home up there]. Sutcliff is nice. Pair it with Mesa Verde and a nice dinner and you have a nice little jaunt.
