Fabulous sushi find "kumo"
We went to kumo in etobicoke for dinner tonight. We let the server order for us. We were blown away by the creativity of the sushi rolls. The fish was super fresh and the combinations in the rolls were outstanding. It will be our new go to place. The food is a wow!!! The chef trained in Japan and worked in new York for 10 years. I believe he is new to Canada.

We had our very non traditional cake made by Linda morganstern at "once upon a cake". She is outstanding. We framed the top of our cake. Linda is very creative. She has great ideas and was a pleasure to work with. She was not inexpensive. I believe she works from home. The cake was a wow!! N
Where to buy delicious seafood antipasto
Costco used to have a jar of antipasto that was wonderful. Costco has a new brand of antipasto that is very disappointing. I would appreciate your recommendations for a good seafood antipasto
Abysmal service at guru Lakshmi
We have been fans of guru Lakshmi for years and are very happy that the restaurant moved to a beautiful new location. The dosas remain excellent. The service is abysmal. The servers want you in and out fast. We received the bill in the middle of our meal. Before we were finished eating, we were approached by a server holding the mechanism to process our credit card!!!!! We told her to come back. But after she left, other servers approached to see if we had paid. This type of service is severely off putting.

I second City Fish.... We buy shshi grade salmon there all of the time and it is delicious and fresh.

We wanted good soda water and found out about Magda Soda Water. They deliver the old fashioned soda water and they don't put any salt in it. It is really delicious. We ordered two cases... (12 bottles). Macleans had an article about the company. The company is decades old. We found out about it through friends and we are just thrilled. You can google Magda Soda Water to read about it. We had our first delivery today

Loving Hut on Eglinton
We have eaten at Loving Hut a few times and we really enjoy it. Try the spicy cha cha cha, and the vegetarian chow mein. Both are delicious. The Pho is excellent. We have also enjoyed the green curry....

We ate the pasta dish with shrimp. It had a pesto sauce. It was soooooooooooooooo oily, the oil was literally sitting on top of the sauce....

Went to the Gordon Lightfoot tribute - a wonderful concert. The dinner was inedible. the food is mid priced to expensive and is abomidable - very greasy - very salty - over sauced - raw or undercooked....

We went to Sam Jung. They have new owners... The Hwae dup Bap was good.... but the portion was not generous. There were not many side dishes..... So, we are still on the lookout for Hwae dup Bap

Lahore Tikka House may have tasty food, but it is the MOST GREASY food I have ever eaten. The oil sits in large pools all over the food..... quite disgusting. We ate there once and will never return.
