Montreal recommendations [from Boston Board] I fear I missed your request on time for it to help you. If it's not too late, I'd reccomend a last minute trip to Coccagne, where there is a table d'hote for $25-30 each night. If you want to choose your meal, it's a little more, $35-40 for the "choose your own table d'hote" but if you don't mind them choosing, it's a steal at the cheaper price range. Heck, it's a steal no matter what you do there. The restaurant is the little brother of Toque, Montreal's most infamous restaurant. It is the bistro version and it focuses on local ingredients. I highly reccomend it. |

Montrealer coming to Boston... looking for good food I will be coming down to Boston from my current home of Montreal for a weekend in March. I am looking for some good food at any price. I would like to find at least one "well worth the price" place and one "I can't belive it only cost that much" place. We love food and are open to any kind of cuisine. And of course, if any of you come up to Montreal, I would be more than happy to make some reccomendations for you. |

How, when and why (if) you started drinking your coffee black I've always had my coffee black. A friend of my parents was a roaster, so we always had freshly roasted beans. I started drinking coffee at 13, and the coffee was roasted so nicely, I never saw a reason to add sugar or cream. That being said, most of today's coffee is so bad, it needs stuff added to it. I work in the coffee buisness now, and you can tell a good coffee shop by how little cream/sugar is used in the coffee. |

Running out of restaurants (that I know of) My parents are coming to visit me in 3 weeks. I'm a student so I never eat out unless they come here, in which case, I take advantage of the opportunity, and take them to the best restaurants I can think of. I need 3 dinners and 2 lunches, at some new places. We have been to: that's all I can think of off the top of my head. I don't want to go to a steak house, as we are from Alberta, and they get great steak back home. I was thinking maybe Aix Cuisine du Terroir and Anise for two dinners. What do you think? Any other suggestions? What is XO like? Cassis? Area? |
