Blue Cheese in Fresno
Jeff..... You might try 9th Street Cheese in Fowler just north of Merced St. They have a creamy blue that is supposed to die for.

Tahoe/Incline reccos
We've enjoyed going to Sunnyside just South of Tahoe City. They have outdoor seating on the lake and the way the weather has been, it shouldn't be too cold.

QN4U BBQ House in Clovis
We went there Thursday night after the House races and had dinner. I mean to tell you the food was outstanding. The brisket was very moist and had the smoky taste, the BBQ chicken was very tender and had the same taste. The Texas Tommie hot dog, which is 1/2 lb hot dog, slit in the middle and stuff with jalapeños and cheese, then wrapped in bacon and deep fried and put in a bun was great. The mac and cheese was creamy, and the beans had a good smoky taste with a sauce that had some kick.

What to eat in Bakersfield?
There is a Hilton Garden Inn just off Rosedale Hiway and Hiway 99. I know it's too late, just a note for possible future trips.

What to eat in Bakersfield?
Depending on where you're staying, for Great sandwiches there's Sequoia Sandwiches, one downtown on 19th street (open for lunch only), one out on Rosedale Hiway about 5 miles West of Hiway 99 (open until 8pm). For Italian there Uricchio's downtown on 17th a block East of Chester Ave. If you're into country, Buck Owen's Crystal Palace has GREAT Chicken Fried Steaks. For Chinese food, there's Bill Lee's Bamboo Chop Sticks on 18th street.

Basque Restaurants, where are they?
We3 had dinner at the Santa Fe Basque Friday night before the game and I was suprised to see Checken Noodle soup being served. They had some of the basics I always see in the Bakersfield Basque places such beans and green salad (without tomatoes), however they served lamb stew, potatoe salad with some bay shrimp, and nice rolls. Pickled tongue was a pay for side dish, no salsa, no cabbage soup, no tomatoe salad no french fries. The lamb chops my daughter ordered medium came well done, the fried chicked was a half checked that looked fried goodness. My calamari was OK, a little tough but acceptable.

Best Dining Spots in Lake Tahoe...?
We ate at the Sunnyside Resort south of Tahoe City on 89 last year for our anniversary. We had a great dinner out on the patio with a beautiful view of the lake.

Los Angeles to Sequoia National Park
The food is not bad, I used to eat there on my bowling nights, the portions are big and the fish and chips has a beer batter (naturally being a brewing place). Onion rings are crisp, and the burgers are big.

Our Anniversary -- Union Square Area and Not the Cheesecake Factory :)
We ate at Espetus a couple of years ago and thought the food was excellent and a large selection from the salad buffet table.

If you're driving thru Bakersfield, there's Lengthwise Brewing on White Lane about 4 miles West of Hiway99. You could try Benji's on Rosedale Hiway (West 58) about 1/2 mile west of Hiway 99. From White Lane North to Rosedale Hiway is about 5 miles.

Famous Dave's BBQ
I've eaten at ours 2 times and found in my opinion that the brisket was dry and a little tough, the green beans not to spicy and like they were boiled in water tough. I thought they could be better on the quality of what was severed.

Goodfellas in Fresno
I honestly thought George's was no more downtown, because it doesn't show up in Google maps and all I could find was the one out on Blackstone by Sierra.
Goos to know George's is still alive downtown.
Thanks

I agree, I stopped there yesterday and got some carne al pastor and it was great, very tender and full of favor. I also got some carne asada but haven't tried it yet.

Frugal Foodie in Bakersfield Near the Convention Center
Mexicali is good Mexican food, but a little pricey in my opinion. There's Flames and Skewers for Middle Eastern food, for lunch Sequoia Sandwich is got to be the best sandwich shop. Uricchio's for great Italian food. Dewars for ice cream and their chews.

Salsa Verde Question
I take the tomatillos, removed the husk, and clean them. I put them in a 9x9 glass pan with an onion quartered and 2 serrano peppers. Pour some olive oil and season with salt and pepper and put them in the toaster oven at 400° for about 45-50 minutes. Then into the food processor and puree.
Cooking Club of America
How did you get one, they told me that my friends and other people know that I'm a foodie and it was a special invite. :)
I threw my in the trash. I suspect they get the names from food magazines.

Tahoe Recommendations
We had a great dinner at the Sunnyside Resort just South of Tahoe City on Hiway 89 back in September. We sat outside on the deck and had a beautiful view of the lake. The food was great.

PF Changs
I've eaten there too and thought it was better than what we have in Bakersfield.
Costco Pesto
We've used it too. Made a pesto pasta. You can freeze it, and we tried it on home made pizza which was good.

moving to bakersfield
For Italian food I like Uricchio's downtown and Luigi's for lunch and the deli. For BBQ, it's Champs. For steaks there old school KC Steak House. Chinese food has Bill Lee's Bamboo Chopsticks. For Breakfast and lunches there's 24th Street Cafe and The Knotty Pine.

Food Network off the air in NY?
It appears to be a trend across the nation as cable TV stations are demanding higher fees for their programs. We had lost the local coverage from Fisher Communications last year thru DISH, now the local cable company is having the same issues. Some of the cable and satellite companies feel their are being held hostage.
