Help! Rehearsal Dinner in Richmond - Ideas Needed Have you talked to the Hotel Jefferson? Certainly historic /local atmosphere, food should be very good & they can certainly handle a large party including parking for your guests. In my opinion the restaurants you mentioned do not meet your criteria. |

The Farmhouse Chesterfield, VA I do not have their recipe, however ate there many times in the late 70's & 80's. I do know in asking the owner for the secret of his recipe he stated "peanut butter". Wish I had some now!!!!!!!! |

I would appreciate your comments on Chima in downtown Charlotte please. While I am very familiar with Churrascaria's & their serving format by having the good fortune to travel on a regular basis to Brasil, I was wondering about anyone's experience at this one. I am especially interested in the atmosphere, service and will smart casual be appropriate for Saturday night dining in December? Thank you for your input. |

Charlotte Birthday Dinner Suggestions southernitalian, I second your comments. My son and I go to CLT several times a year and Lavecchia's is one of our favorites downtown. Very good menu & service and neat atmosphere! Just a leisurely 10 minute walk from our hotel. www.lavecchias.com |

Pearl's Cupcakes; Richmond, VA First time visit today, picked up a half dozen sunshine (vanilla bean cake with lemon curd center and seven minute frosting with fresh lemon zest). Delicious!!!!! This will definitely be a place to hit once every couple of weeks to try new ones. Then after a while narrow down to a top 5. |

Special Anniversary Dinner - Greenville, NC or closeby If you want it to be SPECIAL Starlight Cafe is the place! You may call them to order a gift card & make a reservation. When making the reservation I suggest you ask for the "Starlight" table for two which is right in the window under the Starlight Cafe neon sign looking out at the sidewalk. Plus it is more secluded than the other tables in the restaurant. To organize this you may want to call around 5pm and ask to speak to Susan Boutilier who is the owner and she can handle any extras you want such as roses on the table when your sister & brother in law arrive. I have done this several times for Valentines Day. |
|
|
In my opinion the BEST restaurant in Greenville & surrounding area is Starlight Cafe. The menu is diverse & always changing, Chef Toby is excellent & experienced, the Boutilier Family does a fantastic job, the service is attentive and the atmosphere most attractive. This is where you go for an enjoyable dining evening. http://www.starlightcafe.org/index.html Open for lunch as well. |

I think you will be much happier with more options in staying in the area you are currently reserved. Just my opinion. |

Thank you for your reply "princsoreo". I saw it advertised in the latest "Richmond" magazine & the website appeared as if it is worth a try. Furthermore as we live just off River Rd in Goochland it is only about a 12 minute drive for us via 288 & Broad St. For Chinese my preference is "Full Kee" & Vietnamese "Mekong" but always looking to try something new. |
