Brickmaiden Breads - where to find?
I'm heading out of the SF tonight, up to Mendocino for the weekend. I know of one place in Mill Valley that sells Brickmaiden Breads. Does anyone know of anyplace else where I can find it? Someplace near Petaluma would be ideal.
Thanks!
New Office - Hudson / King St. Lunch recs please
Thanks, Katherine! I didn't get that thread when searching West Soho.
New Office - Hudson / King St. Lunch recs please
I just moved to a new office on Hudson St. between King and Charlton. I know a lot of good places in the area for dinner, but not a lot for lunch.
Any chowhounds in the neighborhood with some good recommendations?
ANY 24 hour diners in nothern Westchester?
The Westchester Diner was formerly the Bypass.
I think the New City Diner on Rt. 202 in Yorktown (formerly Pano's/Crompond Diner) is 24 hours.
Hell's Kitchen/Midtown West recs
Camino Sur has pretty good South American (37th bet. 8th and 9th).

Excellent Sushi in Greenwich or Westchester???
Mt. Fuji in Mt. Kisco has been my regular spot for years.
Lazzara's Pizza
I agree completely with NAtiveNewYorker about the subs. As far as pizza, for the neighborhood, it may be the best pizza. Another place worth checking out in the neighborhood is Carbone, on 38th bet. 8th and 9th.
Food Network
One very appealing aspect of Alton Brown to me, is the emphasis experimenting vs. strict adherence to recipes. I haven't followed many of his recipes exactly, but, I've found many of them to be a solid framework upon which I could build things to my taste.
To use a musical analogy, it's like the difference between only knowing how to site read from a page, vs. knowing the fundementals that allow you to imporovise.
Meat shops to buy game meats
I second Esposito's. Also, Cuzins in the same area (a block away from Espositos, I think).
Penn Sta with very little time
Most of the people in my office who like Aura for Thai, like Chef Yu for Chineese. I've only had take out, but it looks like a decent place inside (corner of 36th and 8th).I also Soul Fixins on 34th and 9th (across from B & H) - standard soul food dishes.
Trader Joe's - Whats the big deal?
They have several varieties of cookies, including a pretty decent mini-stroopwafel. That and I agree with TaterTot31 about some of the Whole Foods type frozen stuff.
Umami Fishkill
According to a MexToGo employee, the ownership will remain the same for the BBQ venture.
(Umami owner Jonathan Pratt is a partner in MexToGo.)
Umami Fishkill
The Croton location is about two blocks from my home - it is definitely still open.
Best pizza in Manhattan? Totonno's?
I work a couple of blocks from the Javits center. Carbone, on 38th, between 8th and 9th, is good. No slices, but the pies are quite good, IMHO.
I wouldn't call it the best in Manhattan, but it is very good for the neighborhood.
Restaurant Week 2007 Map
I tried it first in IE7, and it gave me an error. No problems in Firefox, though.
Thanks, Chad. Useful indeed.
new pizza place- what's the name?
I am also guessing Cronkite...

Moving! heading to a new nabe will be at 8th ave btwn 37 & 38
I work in the building where Camino Sur is located...pretty good.
Aura (Thai) is good and has very fast delivery (9th and 36th).
Cupcake Cafe moved across the st, 9th near 40th.
Carbone (38th bet. 8th and 9th), good coal fired pizza. I believe this is the former location of Napoli Trattoria.
Soul Fixins' (34th and 9th), good basic soul food place.
Peekskill?
Unless it has changed, the Italian place across the street was Hugo's. Decent Italian, as I remember.
I worked as a stagehand at the Paramount about 15 years ago. At that time, most of the backstage catering came from Hugo's.
How are the cupcakes at "Hamburgers & Cupcakes?"
I'll second the blueberry vanilla cupcakes. No one in my office cares much for the burgers, but at least once a week, someone will order cupcakes.
We've had problems with their delivery also. Somehow, they always mess _something_ up. They are around the corner, so I find it a better option to just walk over there.
Columbus Circle
I've never eaten in the cafe itself, but I usually grab something to go from Bouchon Bakery, and eat in the park when I'm up that way.
