Jocelyn's, Salem, N.H.

We went last Saturday night with two other couples. We all shared the Mediterranean Combo appetizer and everyone was impressed. My gf and I then shared the Mixed Mediterranean Grill (beef, kafta, & chicken skewers) with an additional skewer of lamb and everything was perfect. Two of the people are vegetarians and they had no problem finding a variety of choices. Desert was Lebanese baklava and it was authentic and excellent - just like my MIddle Eastern relatives used to make. (Greek baklava is much wetter and sweater than Lebanese/Syrian baklava.) This was by far the most authentic and best Middle Eastern restaurnat that I have visited. Service, as mentioned, was excellent and you do feel like a guest in someone's home. Cost was very, very reasonable and far less than one would expect given the quantity and quality.

Steak in Melbourne

My mother lives in Melbourne and she is looking for a place to go for steak with some guests. Typically, they go to the chains (i.e. Outback), but I told her that I would try to find a better choice for similar cost. Any suggestions?
Thank you in advance.

Taqueria Mexico, Waltham

Ate here for the first time last night due to the many positive reviews I've read here. We ended up driving around the block as Charles St is a one way. This is not the best looking area, and we were a little suspect but decided to trust the reviews we read. It was a beautiful night so we decided to eat outside. The homemade chips and two salsas were a great start. I had enchiladas and my fiance had hard tacos. Neither of our orders were exactly as offered on the menu, but they were very willing to prepare whatever we wanted. My fiance had a frozen pineapple drink while I stuck with diet coke. Easily the best Mexican food that we have had in a while and the servings were certainly plentiful. Service was also prompt and friendly. The bill was $17 and change before the tip. Glad we trusted what we read here, we will definitely go back.
