I cannot thank all of you enough for your thoughtful suggestions. I love the idea of both the Pantry and Casita del Campo. And I'm a regular at Electric lotus. Didn't know they had private rooms. I'm getting on the phones now. But if anything else comes to mind -- please let me know! |

Thank yopu for all your great ideas. I will check them all out. The Thai place sounds interesting and I know Taix well. UGH. There are times when I consider why I work in Not-For-Profit. Love the cause but hate not being able to throw a good party for a major B-day. |

Thanks again. I will call both, Cafe Des Artistes also quoted me 30 a head. That's just out of my price range. Looking for something I can afford so I don't have to have my friends pay anything. I don'tmind if it is a silly but fun place. |

Wine bars that host parties -- anyone? Thank you. Sounds pricey though. Know anything more down-scale? |

Looking for a good, not so expensive, restaurant/bar for a birthday/cockatil party A big B-day is approaching fast and the woman hosting my party suddenly cannot. I'd like to have a cocktail party in a restaurant or nice bar but not someplace outrageously expensive. In fact, I don't have a lot to spend so unfortunately I may have to have to have people pay for their own drinks. I live in Silverlake and anything in Hollywood, Koreatown, Silverlake, or downtown would be best. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. |
