Vegas Hotel Restaurants
I'd choose the Wynn, with MGM, Bellagio, Caesars and Ventian in second place. All 4 have great high end restaurants, but who wants to spend $1,000.+ for 2 every night? MGM, Bellagio and Caesars all have great restaurants that you can do 2 for $400 - $600. Wynn has SW Steak house, which IMHO is better than any of the other steak houses at above mentioned hotels. Wynn has Bartolotta for great Italian, with an emphasis on fish. I must admit that Caesars would win for Sushi, although in a much more "relaxed" atmosphere. But for breakfast Bouchon at Venetian and Tableau at Wynn are the only places we'll go. I vote for Wynn.
Vegas - Bouchon dinner review (long)
biondanonima you have to go to Bouchon for breakfast. Don't even look at the menu, just order the quiche. It's 2 inches thick and melts in your mouth. Everything on the breakfast menu is fabulous and you'll spend the same amount at Bellagio or Wynn but you won't get the quality.
Lunch in Las Vegas
Burger Bar at Mandalay Bay. If you arrive around noon you can go straight there from the airport. Kobe burger with sauteed onions and bacon. Onion rings on the side and a large selection of beers on tap. That's the way to start a trip to Vegas!
Best fishmonger in Pike Place Market?
We've been shopping at the market for over 20 years and we've always bought our fish at Pure Food Fish. I ask them what's the best today and then I buy it. They have the best smoked salmon, not the packaged stuff, but chunks that are moist.
Willamette Wine Country eats?
Tina's in Dundee. If you really like mushrooms to have to go to the Joel Palmer House south of McMcinnville in Dayton. Jack Czarnecki is a nationaly recognized expert. He changes what "Beef" Stroganoff is all about.
Lunch in Las Vegas
Mesa is great for lunch. I'm not sure Bouchon is open on Monday for lunch - but try it for breakfast! We had wonderful salads at the Ritz-Carlton. You have to drive, but it's fun to get away from the strip. Downtown we like the restaurant at the Golden Nugget. We often go the brew pub at the MonteCarlo if we have a mid-afternoon flight out.
Best Fresh Seafood in Seattle Downtown
Great seafood in Seattle also depends upon what you want. Waterfront is upscale and wonderful - you won't find planked salmon. Service is polished. Planked salmon is at Palisade, but don't skip the Pupu Platter or the Crab Cakes. Incredible view at night. Cascadia doesn't specialize in fish, but what they serve is always wonderful. You're at the center of the action in Belltown when you go to Cascadia. Have Fun!
