Fantastic unique venue for dinner party for 100?
Hello friends! We are planning a family party for 80-100 people and looking for a fun and unique venue in town or surrounding areas. Don't just want a boring bland hotel ballroom. Has anyone been to an event at Reading Terminal? Is there a restaurant in Chinatown that could fit that many? So eager to hear your suggestions! Thank you in advance for your help!

Wah-Gi-Wah at 45th and Chestnut
Wow! Finally made it out to Wah-Gi-Wah in West Philly! My dad had been raving about their fried chicken for a while. As described on their menu, "Lahori Chargha (chicken)…Lahori style seasoned crispy fried chicken" My dad would grab lunch and then take a couple chickens home for family back in the burbs. I finally got there this weekend (easy trip on the 21 bus) and it exceeded my expectations! Unique delicious blend of spices but not overpowering heat. Really fantastic! We were picking at the bones! We also had a delish order of aloo gobi. The nan was some of the best I've had, normally I can take it or leave it but this was really good.
Anyone else been?

BYO in Chinatown for birthday dinner?
Hello friends! I wanted to throw a birthday party on the cheap for about 10 people so I was thinking a byo in Chinatown. Any suggestions of a place with a nice space? Would we be better with a private room? Any other non-Chinatown suggestions are welcome as well, but I'm thinking that is the most family-friendly, casual, bang for my buck. Thanks!
Heirloom in Chestnut Hill
Hello! Heirloom just opened. Has anyone else been yet? They are a BYO with a state store in the same shopping center. We enjoyed a great meal starting with bread made in-house. Corn bread with black pepper and warm and buttery pocket bread that I am still thinking about! Oy! Shared apps were amazing lobster bisque with truffle oil, crab cake with sweet shrimp gumbo, and seared diver scallop (incredible) over pork belly. For dinner we had roasted king salmon and lancaster breast of duck. For dessert my dining companions split the apple donut with vanilla ice cream which they both seemed to like very much.
Space was beautiful, warm and seasonally decorated, and the service was quite attentive. Everything made for a great night! We look forward to going back with more people to try the new items that they will offer.

Is Sophie's food truck near Penn still around?
Greetings! A friend who graduated Penn in the mid-eighties wanted me to do some research and see if Sophie's food truck is still around. It was his favorite when he was in school and is craving one of their pizza steaks! Is Sophie's still around? The most recent info I could find was that it was near 34th and Chestnut on weekdays only. Any more updated info and details will be greatly appreciated! Many thanks in advance!

Gift certificates for visitors from Philadelphia?
Hello, my parents will be spending the holidays in the French Quarter. We thought for their holiday/anniversary gift we could get them gift certificates to places to enjoy on their trip. Any thoughts on must-try restaurants (with online gift certificates available)? Also, off topic, which is the best ghost and swamp tour in your opinion?
Thank you in advance!
