Labrador Lounge, Normandy Beach

We had a delightful dinner Sunday night. What made it delightful? The cozy atmosphere, the friendly service, byob, the food was perfectfully fine not great, and it is the beach which counts for a lot! The service was a little out of sync, but it is the beach not 56 th St!

Why don't they have any press? [Blue Water Grill, Point Pleasant Beach]

No, Blue Water Grill on Arnold Avenue in the new Esplanade shopping area. The restaurant used to be in Lavalette.

I had my third or fourth dinner at the new point pleasant location and it was excellent. yes the service is slow (but so friendly and conscientious). Yes the room is too noisy ( but that's a fixable problem). The food from bread to appetizers thru desserts is fantastic. I can't go into the specifics at this time but will in the future. It seems to be getting busier so I recommend making a reservation if you want to
check it out. Enjoy!

What are the top "don't miss" places for dinner Friday and Saturday. Walking distance from hotel or easy cab ride. I like to dine at the bar or quiet table for one. Any and all price and cuisine. Love to eat local foods and foods cooked by local talent . Thanks in advance!

1st trip to Napa and I have some questions...

Everybody has been so helpfull but now I need to narrow it down. I'm leaning towards Auberge du soleil for a drink (the view?) or dinner, Terra, and la Toque for our 2 dinners. I'm not going to do tfl since I had a recent per se experience. I hope I don't regret that....Also, I changed the hotel to yountville (I weighed my options obsessively) but want to know how far the restaurants Im considering will be from the inn and would we be able to get taxisso we don't have to worry about driving/drinking issue. So many details! Thanks again everyone, I'm lucky to have your help.

1st trip to Napa and I have some questions...

NYC Chowhound and husband sneaking away for 2 nights to Napa (1 night in sf). I am a huge california wine fan and can't believe I've waited this long. Here are my questions...1. The hotel I chose was the caneros inn. I'm not stuck with it, but it looked like a great place to spoil ourselves for 2 nights. If there is some place better, please let me know. 2. If I recently went to Per Se in NYC and had a fantastic experience (I really expected to be dissapointed), should we use one of our 2 dinners and go to the French Laundery or are there other equally wonderful but different restaurants? I will search the board for dining options, I know lots of people ask about eating there and nearby. However, if any one wants to urge us to eat somewhere, please don't hold back. Thanks in advance!

Need 3 dinner recc for september

NYC chowhounds coming to Seatlle for 3 nights at the end of the month. We are staying in the hill area (wherever that is). I would like: 1. restaurant for me to dine alone, any type, I love dining at the bar but would also be fine to sit at a table. 2. restaurant to take 2 children (ages 9,16 both great eaters and adventurous) and my husband. 3. Restaurant for my husband and I to dine alone: upscale and/or finer restaurant that features local food and produce, upcoming or established chef, great atmosphere and wine list. I've searched to board but don't know the area or how far places are to our hotel. We are willing to spend $ so throw out all ideas. Thanks!

QUICK! 2 Nights in Paris, need suggestions

I will be in Paris for 3 nights next weekend. I have a dinner reservation at Benoit on thursday night. I will have lunch at Le Comptoir (if I can get in) on one of the days. I want to go somewhere new or old, famous/well established or unknown chef with basic food, not too creative (I get that here in NYC..) I love l'ami Louis (no room for us) and Aux Lyonnais. We are celebrating an anniversary and will spend whatever. Atmosphere and nice vibe is a plus. We are stating in the Marais, but we will go anywhere. Suggestions please! Thanks!
