Alternative to Crystal Mall in GVA?

Thanks for the replies - the izakaya sounds interesting. I will be going to this place solo and I have read that izakaya tends to be a group experience. Can I get solo portions?

Alternative to Crystal Mall in GVA?

I will be traveling to Vancouver next week and was interested in checking out the Crystal Mall food courst but my free time in Vancouver will be cut short - I will only really have one day free to sight see. On that day, I wanted to go to Granville Island, the Museum of Anthropology and downtown Vancouver. I have read on the boards that it is best to go to Crystal Mall for lunch, but I don't think I would have time to get to Burnaby for lunch and do the other things I wanted to do. I will also miss the opening of the Richmond Night market because I will be heading back home on the 30th.

I would love to sample a variety of authentic asian food - Is there a similar food court in one of the malls that is open in the evening? If I arrived at Crystal Mall around 6 pm, would that be too late?

Best Pacific Northwest Seafood Vancouver

I will be in Vancouver next week for a short trip. I only have TWO nights in Vancouver before going to Vancouver Island. So far, I have decided to eat at Crystal Mall asian food court for one meal, but I would love to have some local seafood as well.

Years ago, I had some fantastic alder smoked salmon in Seattle. I was considering the Salmon House but the one review I saw said it was inconsistent. If I can't have alder smoked salmon, I would love any good seafood restaurant.

Should I try Salmon House or should I go for a really memorable meal at a place like West or Raincity Grill? How would you compare these restaurants to the Fish House in Stanley Park?

thanks

Looking for "the faucet" mills

Thank you for your information. I had a set of the Metrokane mills and they no longer make them! So, if any of you chowhounds have a set, please let me know. I am not that crazy about the acrylic ones...

Thanks and if anyone has any or know of any in a second hand shop, let me know. I will continue to scour e-bay

Looking for "the faucet" mills

I owned the cutest set of salt and pepper mills. They were in the shape of old fashioned hot and cold water faucets. They were officially called "The Faucet" salt and pepper mills and they were white enamel.

I played host to family from New Orleans for 3 months and my house was turned upside down to accomodate them. Since then I have not been able to find my mills.

Does anyone know where I can purchase these mills or have any they would like to sell? I had seen one on ebay but I don't see any anymore.

Please help!!!!
