Day 8 we arrive in Key West. Going through Miami was BAD. Stopped at Buds Buns/Islamorada Café for mid morning snack. Small place, good food and service. Had a very late lunch at Mangoes of Key West, It's Not Just A Fruit, It's A Lifestyle. Mangoe's Restaurant of Key West, Casual, Fine Dining With An Island Flair. Very good food and service. We had leftovers.
Returned to Heron House (Inn/B&B). Our room was now clean and they had moved our luggage into the room. Very nice. Very expensive. At 5:30 Heron House had wine & cheese. Dinner was leftovers.

Day 9 was in the 80’s. Toured the island with Old Town Trolley, not to be confused with the Conch Tour Train. The Conch Tour Train is 90 minutes and you can not get on or off. The trolley makes the same tour and gives the same lecture, but you can get on and off at 10 different locations. Lunch was very good at Louie's Backyard, near the Southernmost Point in the US(90 miles from Cuba). Then back to Heron House for More wine & cheese. Dinner was at Sarabeth’s. The Traditional Caesar Salad was the best that I have had for years. The Lump Crabmeat and Key West Pink Shrimp Cakes was good. The Strawberry shortcake was OK, we should have gone with the bread pudding. Would do Mango’s and Sarabeth’s again.

Dinner was at Jaspers porch in Ridgeland, SC. Will not do that again.

Andy's Cheesesteaks & Cheeseburgers, very good.

Jay's Deli & Bubba's are great.

Day 2 was a travel day. Very cold and some snow. Had lunch at Wild Flour Bakery / Gallery in Abingdon, VA. Very good. Will do this again. Homemade split pea soup. Pimento Cheese Sandwich that was a great surprise. Homemade of white cheddar cheese and large chunks of pimento then grilled all toasty and melty, yum yum. Dinner at Mrs. Rowe's Restaurant and Bakery at Staunton, VA. I am giving up on this place.

Ole Sawmill Café in Forrest city AR. Not great but would do it again. Lots of cops eat there.

Looking for a lunch spot on I 75 Between Gainesville, FL and Key West, FL. Semi-fast food. Planning on BBQ the day before so maybe fried chicken, Cuban sandwich, shrimp, or ???

Just over 3 miles from Wal-mart HQ is Whole Hog Cafe
at: 1400 SE Walton Blvd. Take a right turn at the light by Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. It is in the row of shops behind KKD.

At whole hog we are talking BBQ done low & slow served in simple surroundings. You might hear some blues.

You should order the potato salad.
