Aladdin's--great for vegetarians and cheap
Wow -- I had no idea that Alladin's had made it out of Columbus. Yes, they are a chain, but a small one (I believe they have 3 or 4 in Columbus, and maybe 1 or 2 locations in Cleveland as well) and not someplace I think of as chain food. Everything is fresh, and those desserts are to die for.
Microbrewery/Brew Pub in Chicago?
Am coming in to Chicago Memorial Day Weekend, with my girlfriend, who is a huge lover of good beer. Any suggestions for a brewery/pub and or just a bar with a great local selection? Preferably in the loop area or near the red line, but I'm willing to venture out if need be.
Columbus, OH-great hot chocolate
I myself prefer chai or coffee, but I have several friends who are head over heels for the White Hot Chocolate at Mojoe (regular cup o' joe may also have it). I believe there is an alcoholic version as well.
What restaurants are around the Ohio State Campus?
You would probably be just as well off trying to find out how to put $ on his Buck ID. Most of the restaurants on High Street, which runs through campus, and some in other parts of the city, accept OSU's ID cards like debit cards. That way he could choose to go chain or local as well.
Need Columbus Ohio Help
I would have agreed with you a couple of months ago as well actually, but they revised the menu toward the end of the summer and it's going back up again. They had a lot of staff turnover mid-summer, but they've stabilized again now.
Yellow Springs/Beavercreek
The food at the Golden Jersey Inn at the Young's "complex" is good too. I wouldn't call it destination dining, but it's homestyle and has tons of variety. The brown bread with apple butter they bring you is excellent.
Need Columbus Ohio Help
Are you focused on fine dining? Or interested in the cheaper but good places too? For happy hour, Burgandy Room, Rigsby's and Mojoe Lounge in the Short North do great appetizers. Surly Girl and Betty's have the best in the way of bar food, and both of their kitchens are open fairly late. Surly has about 2 dozen microbrews on tap as well. On the fine dining scale, try Dragonfly -- all vegan, and the best presentation in Columbus. For lunch, Bodega and Northstar in the Short North and Benevolence near the North Market are good bets.
Best burger in Columbus ohio?!!? who's got it?!??
Hmmm...I couldn't hazard a guess at the Whole World one. Northstar's has beets*, rice, and I believe broccoli. I could eat a few more and take a better guess probably.
*Apologies for the typo in my original post. Yeouch.
Due Amici, Columbus, Ohio - any reviews?
The bar here is pretty good as well. They make (at least in the summer time) Bellinis as a specialty, which I haven't seen in too many other places in Cbus.
Best burger in Columbus ohio?!!? who's got it?!??
I know you definitely mean of the meat persuasion when you say "burger" but I have to mention that there are some fantastic veg burgers in C-bus as well. Whole World makes the Broccoli Burger that makes the rounds in festival time, but the winner has got to be Northstar's Veggie Burger that contains beats, and frankly, even looks like the real thing!
