Where to purchase Blue Bell Ice Cream in Fayetteville, NC? Available at Walmart and Lowes Food here in the Raleigh area. The only ice cream that has no "chemicals" is that which you make yourself. Enjoy your Blue Bell! |

The chili at Fat Daddy's on Glenwood Ave is pretty dang good. I usually get two meals out of a bowl. Give it a try sometime. Large selection of beers to wash it down with as well. |

NC, White Lake - Elizabethtown Dale's Seafood in Whiteville, if its as good as their place at Lake Waccamaw, would be an excellent choice. Very good! |

Barbecue-Banquet Spot in Raleigh The Pit has rooms for parties, and a bar. About your only choice in Raleigh. See their website for more info. |

Add the table sauce of your choice...make it any 'style' you choose..easy. |

Its is just south of Carthage at the air strip. Fly-in, park plane and go eat. This is the REAL deal...try it if you get close. Drive if u ain't close..worth it! |

Do keep Grady's on the list. I would like another opinion since my one time visit may have hit them on a bad day. |
|

I looked for evidence of wood...smoke...etc. None seen on the property or smelled. Come to think of it, there was sauce available...extra charge which was rather surprising. And I drove past Wilbur's going to Grady's! Live and learn.. |

BBQ was fat, and no hint of flavor. Obviously not cooked with wood. Recall no sauce available on the table. Sides were below average. The whole meal was just not worth the effort. I had the choice of the Skylight Inn or Grady's that day...sure wish I had gone north instead of south. |

I drove for many miles to try Grady's back last spring. Extremely disappointed...recommend SKIPPING this one. Bill |

I am almost sure I saw Boylan Products at the Red Hill General store in the Falls River Town Center on Durant Road. Give them a call and check for this variety. 1-800-251-8824 Bill |

Airstrip Airport and Barbeque restaurant (Raleigh) Unique place! Food is excellent, the bbq is cooked right there. Fly in, park your plane on the grass and go eat. Some outside seating too. Reminds me of the Cow Pasture Bank in Rio Vista, Texas which had a grass strip behind the bank for the convenience of flying customers. |

Try Fish and Chips at the Fishmonger in Durham. Huge cod pieces, excellent fries, and very good slaw. My favorite every time I visit. |

Hot Bacon Honey Mustard House Dressing Just Google the name...plenty of hits... Enjoy! Bill |

Ack - What to do with cheap whiskey? The Herter's Bull Cook Book circa 1960 suggests the following for bad whiskey: "Add 1.5 ounces of port wine to the fifth and shake it up well. Let stand for three hours or more. You then will have as smooth drinking and tasting whiskey as any made in the world regardless of price. In fact, it will taste much like the famed Canadian made Canadian Club Whiskey that is so smooth and free of irritants that it can be drunk without diluting at all. Your American whiskey with the port wine added, you will find can also be drunk with no diluting at all and will have no bad alcohol taste or fumes." If you are willing, give this a try and report back. Happy New Year! Bill |

Greensboro Area Southern Style Cooking Grady's in Dudley is no where near Greensboro. About 140 or so miles southeast. |

Put out a keg of PBR with no name on it. If anyone asks, say the caterer picked it, and you think it is an IMPORT. Will disappear like magic! |
|

Is White Horse scotch available to you? Its available in the ABC stores in North Carolina. State run liquor stores...all we have here. Sells in the $18 range... |

Seafood Restaurant in Raleigh? I am surprised no one has mentioned Captain Stanley's on Falls of the Neuse. Recently opened, its menu is great. Quality and prices are equal to the old Captain Stanley's place south of town when it was the GO TO PLACE back in the 80's. Mostly Calabash style, but done well. Give it a try sometime and I think you will agree. |

I like the dogs at Char Grill...prefer mine with chili, slaw and dill pickles. |

Hands down...ZIMA! Long gone, but never forgotten. And may it stay gone.. |

Staying in Kure Beach, NC. Rec's for Carolina Beach or Wilmington, please? The Old Pier House Restaurant right at Kure Beach Pier is my choice. Great Calabash style seafood.. |
