Lunch spots in Downtown Durham?
I am now hooked on L'Uva, they have reasonable lunch prizes. It's unfortunate thought, that they charge extra for both bread and roasted garlic.
Delicious Asian restaurants in Raleigh
We like Shish Kabob off Leesville Rd in N Raleigh. Cheap, super fresh. Of course there is also a new Neomonde which has opened in N Raleigh off Strickland and Lead Mine. Bigger but similar to the Morrisville location.
I enjoy Neo Asia off Glenwood in N Raleigh for great Chinese and sushi. I haven't tried the Thai.
David's Dumpling and Noodle Bar off HIllsborough is really yummy and affordable.
What's your favorite Vietnamese? I work in Durham and have been to pho 9n9 and Saigon Grille and enjoy both.
Raleigh area Pancakes
YIkes. What types of pancakes do you prefer? I generally find that the overly large pancakes can get quite dry. Including the ones at Big City Bagels and Ed's, if I recall correctly.
I like the thinner ones, myself.
Relish has nice gingerbread banana pancakes during their brunch, Saturday and Sundays.
The pancakes at Brigs are pretty reliable. Perhaps Finch's has good pancakes?
Treats to bring in to work along commute - N. Raleigh to Downtown Durham
I got all this for $6. Most of it was a bit firmer in texture than I am used to. It looks like they had some items made out of a bread like dough and then others that were a yellow cakey dough. This is from a panaderia tortilleria along 98.
Where to have Sunday lunch in Raleigh NC?
518 West is fantastic. Alternately, I hear dim sum house in Morrisville is great!
Treats to bring in to work along commute - N. Raleigh to Downtown Durham
There are many ways I could take to get to work and I'm looking for new treats to bring into the office. I normally bring Daylight Donuts as it's right by my house. I'm not a huge fan of bagels. Sometimes I stop at 9th St Bakery but they don't have donuts. The pastries (while delish) are too pricey to bring in enough for everyone. I did get some raves when I brought in one of their chocolate babkas! Scratch is also too pricey for this need.
I am specifically curious whether there are any breakfasty treat options along 98 or elsewhere? I know there are tortillerias and they seem to be open by 8:15am when I pass by. Do they sell anything breakfasty or donut-like? Are there any other ethnic treats I could bring in that would be different?

German food in the Triangle
Does anyone know if there are german butchers around? We want fresh German sausages!
Old Havana Sandwich Shop on E. Main Street, Durham...
Is King's walking distance from the American Tobacco campus?
Old Havana Sandwich Shop on E. Main Street, Durham...
Yes Dame's is very hard to resist!
Good Donuts in RDU/Triangle ?
Who or what is Sweet Lady Jane? A red velvet donut sounds fantastic.
Triangle Tops?
I agree about Scratch. I've tried a few things there and only half I've enjoyed. Lemon pie had a brittle and dry crust, same with the chocolate tart. You can't go wrong with a doughnut muffin there and the sandwiches are generally good. But for the price I would want more consistency.
Good Donuts in RDU/Triangle ?
I agree that Sctratch doughnut muffins are fantastic. The regular flavor are better than the chocolate. However at $2 each buying a dozen is not something I'd do. This is why we need a real doughnut shop in Durham! Daylight are the best for the $ and taste.
Old Havana Sandwich Shop on E. Main Street, Durham...
I stopped here too on Friday and got the special - a plate of chopped pork, black beans, rice, and a half order of maduros. It wasn't super cheap at about $9 but was amazing and enough for about two meals for me. I loved it as I am not big on cuban sandwiches, so it is good that there is another option. I lived in south florida for 5 years and this was just as good as most I found down there.
Good Donuts in RDU/Triangle ?
Well carpe Durham usually keeps up with the food trucks. But I can ask them for info with my account.

This is all I know about them: http://twitter.com/#!/DoughnetteTruck
Good Donuts in RDU/Triangle ?
I agree. There is a Daylight off Creedmoor in North Raleigh. They are not open on Mondays, though, so be warned.

Lunch spots in Downtown Durham?
What is Baked? I can't find any information about it.
Lunch spots in Downtown Durham?
I have been there for dinner with some folks and we were lukewarm on it. My palomilla steak was good but apps and sides were pretty run of the mill.
Lunch spots in Downtown Durham?
I went to P&O over the weekend and thought it was cute but my artichoke sandwich was just ok. For the price, I though Toast was better. A choice of side would be nice. I love Chubby's, It's good to know there is one nearby.
So there are two Pop's? I have been interested to try but confused on which is which and where it is.
Thanks for the suggestions. I have tried to contact ATC to request more food trucks but have only seen Only Burger. I think Farmhand comes close by sometimes.
Lunch spots in Downtown Durham?
I started working at the American Tobacco Campus a few months ago and have enjoyed trying out some restaurants nearby. I am lucky to be in this central location, and walking distance from both Main St and Brightleaf. What places should I try out? Ideally walking distance but short drive is fine. Price range is flexible but I can't do above $15 all-in all that often.
I searched the archives within the past year and didn't find anything on this topic.
I've enjoyed Ninth Street Bakery, Dame's Chicken and Waffles, Toast, Only Burger, Torero's, and Tobacco Road. I am over Saladelia, Tyler's and Mellow Mushroom. I found Parker and Otis a little overblown. I enjoy most types of foods but am a sucker for carbs and baked goods. I am not nor will ever be on a diet.

Raleigh area - authentic bagels
There is a new bagel place at the intersection of sawmill and six forks road in north raleigh. I haven't tried it yet. http://www.bigcitybagelsandcafe.com/
Did someone mention a Raleigh area restaurant blog?
Your question is from a while ago but check out my Triangle Area restaurant review blog http://demandy.com
Raleigh Breakfast?
Of those I have been to Flying Biscuit and Farmer's Market. I agree with others that Farmer's Market food is not really that great. Flying Biscuit is pretty good but can be inconsistent. I have a review with pictures on my website: http://demandy.com/flying-biscuit-cafe/. You should try The Diner which is a good (and new) 24hr diner with patio as well as indoor seating on Glenwood Ave or Big Ed's as another person suggested. I hear Mecca is good for breakfast, and has been there forever. You might want to try that for authentic eats too.
You'll have better luck if you take your friends out for brunch, there are a lot more options for Sunday brunch in Raleigh. I could start naming them but there are too many! I think there is another thread on that.

Sunday Brunch in Raleigh/Chapel Hill?
Sweet, thanks for the heads up. I just got a free breakfast at Mimis for signing up to their newsletter as well. We may end up giving them another shot - they start serving at 10am plus list nutritionals on the website, which is a biggie for one of our guests.
I've been to Michael Deans for their dinner a few times and really enjoyed it.
