duck deli bbq in chalfont....review
How in the world could a place that uses canned fruit for its cobblers be trusted with anything? Frozen fruit I could see, but CANNED? I'm skeptical of the rest of it because of that.
Cafe Avocado in Perkasie...Five out of Five Avocados
It's a wonderful addition to Perkasie. Man, do we need more places with decent food. I wish the coffee were stronger, but I really can't complain, given how few decent places there are in the area. Speaking of the area, how come postings on Perkasie and environs get so few replies? Are there really hardly any chowhounds in that part of the world? I doubt it...
Which brand of Vodka do you use when making infusions
One of my favorites that I've done is lavender. I took fresh lavender sprigs and put them in the cheapest possible vodka. It was lovely.
Best Omelet/Omelette in Bucks County
I have to disagree. Sure, it's a friendly, clean, comfortable place run by nice people, but I don't think the food's anything special. I, too, appreciate a real tomato, but their omelettes are brown on the outside and the fillings nothing special. The diner in Doylestown where I work (I won't mention the name-- don't want to plug illegally!) blows them way out of the water.
Real french bread in Souderton!
Yup, and the owner also used to work for Crossroads Bake Shop in Doylestown, and does similar breads.
Indian in Bucks/Mont. Counties?
There's a place in Lahaska in Peddlar's Village, sort of behind Earl's. I don't remember the name, but it's cute and fairly good. Not cheap, but worth going to if you need a fix and are in that area.
Doylestown Treats?
Cross Keys Diner is just outside of town. It's on 313 just off 611 (if you go north on 611/Main St., go right on 313, and it's just ahead on the left-- big red and white sign.
Zenjava in Perkasie
A little bit of civilization has come to Perkasie in the form of this cozy, tasteful espresso joint that also has decent food. The kitchen equipment's in progress, so the menu is smaller than it will be later, but they're doing an excellent job with what they have so far. It's exciting, because this area is in desperate need of good food, and it looks like the tide is starting to turn.
